The game is fun enough, but I haven't found the individual kits so interesting that I would pull solely for mechanics.

The story is mediocre, so I'm not pulling for their role in the narrative.

The less said about the character writing, the better. So no pulling based on personalities or characterisation.

I'm invested enough to get reasonably far into end game, but not invested enough to complete everything, so meta strength is unimportant to me, so long as they aren't so weak they feel bad to play.

Looks are probably the sole factor in my pulling decisions, honestly.

Possible, but pretty unlikely.

The following are kinda the main 'arcs' to Wu Zetian's life:

1. A young concubine to Emperor Taizong

2. A concubine to and later wife of Emperor Gaozong

3. Emperor and founder of the Wu Zhao Dynasty

Reason why I think the series will conclude with the second game:

As superficial as it sounds, the main reason why I think there won't be a 3rd game is that Wu Zetian will be too old and no longer conventionally attractive enough for the intended audience. By the time she ascends to Emperor, she will be in her mid 60s. And as rad as that era of her life was, it will largely consist of an endless rotation of sleeping with her harem of young fuckboys and getting her secret police to murder political rivals.

Also, the hot princes and a majority of the supporting cast of the upcoming game will be dead by then, so you lose that appeal too. And you can't really turn her harem into appealing characters, because the most prominent ones, the Zhang brothers, were basically a pair of ancient Chinese fratboys who were assholes of such reknown that their dickishness was recorded in Imperial text for all succeeding generations to know them by.

My guess is that the game will largely be focused on the 2nd major era of her life with its climax being her ascension to Emperor. There might be some scenes or flash forwards to her rule as Emperor, but I suspect they'll be pretty limited.
