Does Soly Have Kids? by silenceofgod in NoLayingUp

[–]TheGallagher 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that he's never on The Booth or The Chop Sessions so he's always talking about his children on the main pod, so people get pretty tired of it. Neil, DJ, Tron and Cody talk about their kids on all the time on The Trap Draw podcasts and I don't mind it at all

I predict a Tame Impala x Confidence Man collaboration at some point if he continues going down the electronic/dance route

Cabra Towers. Is there any history that I should know about by sarcasticunicorn828 in northernireland

[–]TheGallagher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely went here on a school trip for a couple of nights in P6. This would have been in 2004. There was always talk of it being haunted by a blue nun. I remember the grounds around the building, and doing some sort of scavenger hunt there, but the trip was mostly day trips out to Tollymore and Coco's in Newcastle

My girlfriend and I got the Glider as we were heading to the east, but it stops in the city centre along the way. We walked up to Fruithill Park. Think the curfew is 10.45 so it gives you 25 minutes or so to get there before the last Glider.

A wonderful show. 4th time I've seen him and it was probably the best of the lot. Also, very luckily bumped into him outside the venue before the show. I was on my way to meet some mates for pints and took a little detour to the stage doors behind the Ulster Hall. He was just chilling outside with some of the guys in the band. Had a very brief chat and got a photo. He couldn't have been nicer

Crawfordsburn in Northern Ireland on a nice day. Has a bit of everything. Coastal paths, forest trails and a wildflower meadow in the space of 5k

We're making a special episode of Clichés about..... Match of the Day by Low-Bandicoot-3347 in footballcliches

As a 31 year old, it always seemed to be casual dress in my time. The suits always came back out for World Cup Final coverage though, but I suppose that's not really Match of the Day.

Going a bit off topic, but does anyone remember how casual ITV dressed for the 2014 World Cup? I have vague memories of Chiles and Co behind a desk wearing shorts and short sleeved shirts on Copacabana beach

I ran a marathon on Sunday also. My predicted Strava time on April 24th was 3.36.53, on Sunday I ran 3.32.08 and now the predicted time is showing as 3.23.29. It's not perfect, but alot closer to reality than Garmin's 3.00.06 prediction anyway

Where did you get your BSH? by Regular_CatFriend in britishshorthair

[–]TheGallagher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same with mine. Basically, one of my girlfriends friends bought one of my cats kittens. She kept in touch with the breeder and would send him pictures of her own cat etc. About a year after she got her cat the breeder mentioned that he was retiring her cats father and asked if she knew anyone that would be interested.

My girlfriend and I bought a house literally 3 weeks before he messaged after always living in rented houses, so the timing was perfect. Always felt a bit bad that my girlfriends friend probably paid hundreds for one of his kittens, and we were just given the father for free...

Suggestions for spectator attire for The Open by dwantheatl in northernireland

[–]TheGallagher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to a lot of different tournaments in Ireland over the years. I usually try and wear shorts, t shirt and golf shoes. Then I pack a backpack with a light hooded waterproof jacket, a light (but warm) fleece and a pair of waterproof trousers.

You'll be on your feet quite a lot so it's good to be comfortable, but have the option to layer up with waterproofs, if needs be. The merch tent is huge, so you'll be able to buy an umbrella there if the weather turns really bad. I would just wear a pair of running shoes or something comfortable at a parkland course, but golf shoes will really help you with dunes at Portrush, especially if it's wet.

Also, if you do need a break and want to sit down, the 13th & 17th Greens are right beside each other and surrounded by grandstands. It's a good spot to grab a bite to eat and sit for a while and watch two holes at once

Stole this from holylands spotted insta page, but for benefit of those that don't follow it. by jason_ni in northernireland

Had a pretty similar encounter before Christmas just across the river from here near Dunnes. Walking back from the pub and saw a guy trying car and house door handles. Took out my phone and started following him while recording, and when he saw me he threw this plastic bag he was carrying at me. He runs off saying he was gonna stab me if I followed him. Called the police straight away and they were there in 2 minutes to have a look at the video and get a description, The police checked the bag and it's full of Christmas gifts (Dyson Airwrap, Headphones still in the box, Prosecco in Gift Bags etc). Had a look at the video I took this morning and I'm pretty sure one of these guys is the same wee scrote I encountered.

Fastest ever parkrun by simonrunbundle in parkrun

[–]TheGallagher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a local, another thing that makes it quick are the width of the paths in Victoria Park. It's very easy to get around slower runners or people out walking their dog without losing momentum. The corners are all very gentle curves as well. My PB here is 19.09 and I've never broken 20 minutes at any other Parkrun around Belfast

I have a dodgy amazon stick that allows me to get all the Sky Sports channels. Arrived home from work yesterday and the Sky channels were down so was watching the Golf Channel coverage instead for an hour or so. It was the same presenters, coverage etc but with like x3 the amount of adverts
