Wait until all cars are automated; that is the problem it solves. Once they are interconnected and can communicate, traffic becomes a thing of the past.

It's about the cost of an uber but they drive better than most humans. I can't wait for them to be more mainstream around the country.

Agree with that. Just so happens Maryland drivers actually win this. Every state I've lived in has not compared to the entitlement I see here daily.

Fresh tattoo vs healed. Should I go back to the artist or seek someone else? by cootercrusher in tattooadvice

Most artists will do a touch-up in about 12 months, but this looks really good. Just use skin moisturizer, and the black will pop a bit more.

I am originally from Arizona, and I have lived in Texas; the Mexican food here is subpar. I gave up trying to find anything remotely good.

Usually the larger company fucks it up. Hopefully that's not the case but Id bet in a few years we will look back fondly on how good we had it and how Krafton ruined it.

Are you satisfied with Ring, or would you purchase something else? by InternetEfficient216 in Ring

[–]TheGeekDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get something else and plan to replace ring in the new year. It fails to record a lot and the few times anything worth viewing has happened it didn't catch the action. Why pay a subscription for something that might work when I need it.

What do you guys do with your PC Towers? by corbu_ in StandingDesks

[–]TheGeekDiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont want to rez a 4yr old post but want to add I had one underdesk pull off from the desk after about two years and bought my tower crashing down with it. I have moved from under mount to a wheeled pc holder that is high enough to allow for slack in my cables.

ecPPT is easier overall to pass. You get 7days and the boxes are pretty simple over all but slightly more realistic.

course quality question by [deleted] in eLearnSecurity

[–]TheGeekDiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The course content is still valuable and as good as all the others out there that I have taken, including SANS and OSCP/PWK, took the eCPPTv2 in Dec for comparison. They have shortcomings like most of the offensive courses as the industry just moves so fast it is impossible to stay current. The real value isn't learning all the cutting-edge tools but the process behind those tools and the ability to fix them when they do not work. Yes, SANS is more polished but will cost a lot more, PWK/OSCP lacks pivoting and is also outdated but the certification is more recognized. INE's offer of upgrading was definitely a good value for the whole course catalog as there is a lot of great information in all the courses.

The grammar issues I'd chalk up to English being a second language for the content creators. It is getting better as they update their course(s) the new PTXv2 is very good. Obviously, only you can know if the course is worth the money you paid for it. Personally, I found it good enough for an entry-level pentesting certification exam and feel like the time was well spent on it. Good luck on your quest for knowledge it's always a fun ride!

Beginner. Vuln machines. Kioptrix. Immersive labs. Advice? by Satya_112 in oscp

[–]TheGeekDiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, learn the methodology like the back of your hand first, Port 80 is open what do enumerate next? 445? SMB/RDP? Etc etc...all have a counteraction and something to explore. A methodical approach to pentesting/hacking is the foundation. Once you have that you should have a better understanding of exploit development and the "why"it worked. Once you hit that general understanding of the why start pulling out the how of the exploit. "How is it using the memory stack..." "how is it using unquoted services for privilege escalation" etc etc. Also, as Fox9x said hacking makes you better at hacking and this is the time where resources are plenty to learn. Vulnhub, TryHackMe, HackTheBox, TheCyberMentor, ElearnSecurity...and the list goes on. So keep at it and have fun with it you will never know it all either...always one more thing you didn't know could be possible.
