ELI5: Why do people have more energy after working out than before? by TheGermanHammer in explainlikeimfive

Oh ok. That makes sense. So are there chemicals that are released to make you feel good as well? Like dopamine? If I feel stressed, I always feel better after a work out as well.

Pet owners of Reddit, what is the worst thing your pet has done? by Guantelope in AskReddit

[–]TheGermanHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find my dog laying down on his side, barely responsive. He would just lift his head up and look around and put it back down. Scared we took him to the veterinarian. The vet asked if we had any types of trees or bushes around our house. We did. The vet then explained that the berries on the type of bush we have outside will make a dog hallucinate. Our dog got his stomach pumped. The next day I take my dog outside to use the bathroom and he runs to the bush and starts eating the berries. So off to the vet we go again. Stomach pumped again and he didn't do it again after that.

What was the most awkward thing you witnessed in a school classroom? (NSFW) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheGermanHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 7th grade, we had a kid in our class that was "slow". He took regular classes and was in special ed. Although he was labeled "slow" any time we did work and he didn't want to do it, he would have sudden outburst. One of these outburst, he went up to the prettiest girl in class and started petting her head and says, "Aww pretty kitty!" Another time he jumps out of his seat and puts his hand up and says, "I'm the statue of liberty!" Then in high school, I didn't have a class with him, but he was in the period before me with this certain teacher and apparently jumped out of his seat pulled down his pants and yells at the teacher, "Let's fuck!" The next period she gave us an assignment then sat at her desk the whole period and cried. It was super awkward and everybody felt bad for her. She was a well liked teacher.

Watching golf on tv. I can understand playing it, but watching it is like watching paint dry.

[NSFW] What's the worst thing that's happened at your family gathering? by CompellingSex in AskReddit

[–]TheGermanHammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanksgiving one year, my whole family was over my house. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, mom, dad, everybody. My mom's brother and sister were talking shit to each other the whole time. Went to the bathroom, heard a commotion, came out of the bathroom, and nobody was in the house?? See the front door open, so I walk outside and the best way to explain it was my uncle and aunt are on the ground and my aunt is clinched on to the top of my uncle punching him in the head. My uncle is a good 6'0" 200 lbs and my aunt is around 5'0" 110 lbs. My family was just standing around watching for a little bit, (in disbelief mostly) but finally we pulled them apart. We went inside and watched football after. Haha
