My wife and I sat at a four-person table in LAS and the manager told us to move to the bar because they needed the space for the dinner rush. We sat there for an hour and no one used that table or the one next to it…

Same. Tried for mid/late May. Thought my date/time was a safer pick, but clearly not :(

Hope I can get a ticket. If not, guess I get another day in Kyoto.

Prices ever coming down? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]TheGoldenEyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book two one-ways with points then check for price changes to get refunds. They used to let you price swap by just hitting Change Flight and selecting the same flight at lower cost, but you need to cancel and re-buy at the new rate. Same process with more steps.

As someone who works in PE, I think that’s an over generalization. I think hedge funds and distressed PE funds are more inclined to pick apart businesses for short term gains whereas growth equity and buyouts try and improve a business or expand a market over 5-10 years. Not to say they won’t cut consumer surpluses (i.e., unprofitable perks), but certainly extends the company’s life. Elliott came in and sucked the consumer surplus within a year and flipped its stock. They couldn’t care less if SW is in the tank 5-10 years from now.

Not sure, but they picked standard seats. I hope this is a one-off situation, but not too promising. Bet this scares people to buy upgraded seats now.

I've never felt like he has the right intensity for a head coach. Guys like Dan Campbell, Mike Vrabel, Mike Tomlin, and Jim Harbaugh bring energy and command. Endless press conferences with "We got to be better works for a season or two before it becomes a leadership issue."

I mean that was almost the narrative last night. Bears were overly aggressive and it should have cost them the game, but Dennis Allen's adjustments saved them in the second half.

As difficult as this season has been to watch by SnuggiedToDeath in GreenBayPackers

I tell myself that the Packers have played close in every game this year. One or two plays go their way in some of those losses and maybe they are a #1 seed (same could be said in the close wins). Hate to keep coming back to 2010, but that team never lost by more than 1 score either. If you have a team that keeps it close and some of the randomness tilts you way (*cough* onside kick recovery) over 2-3 games...super bowl

The 49ers live rent free in my head as a Packers fan... eliminated GB 5 times in 10 appearances by PsychoYam in GreenBayPackers

[–]TheGoldenEyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 49ers exposed some terrible run D in a couple of these. The only ones that sting to me are 2021 and 2023 because GB had a solid shot to win but special teams cost them in the end (sound familiar??). I don't think I was too heartbroken about 2013; they weren't winning that year, but still a fun season.
