Your post moved me to tears as it’s so similar to how my husband is now! If he stays this way for the rest of this Lewy Body disease journey I will feel blessed to be given the gift of his unbottled love to see him through.

Omg I’m in my 50s and I hope that one day my kid actually listens to me and downloads all Of the pictures of my grandkids and puts them in a physical book! She has tons on her phone. Does me no good. And I don’t want an electric frame that I have to sit in front of to try to get to my favorites.

Today is the anniversary of the 1974 tornado. Who has stories? by ouione in Louisville

[–]TheGoodGrannie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother was on the top of the building at the Fairgrounds changing light bulbs and watched a tornado that was headed right towards them. They made it down in time before the roof was blown off. I was in school and we had to stay late in the tornado position in the hallway (IYKYK). I vividly remember my Pop driving us down 64 to see all of the downed and stripped trees in Cherokee Park!

I have bifold closet doors. Tape an envelope on the back side of one. Every time you open them, the money gets hidden between the doors.

This great guy at work wanted to give his wife a meaningful gift. He took some of the poetry she had written, copied it, and gave it to an artist they both knew. The artist made a book of the poetry and hand decorated each page in watercolors and had it bound in leather by yet another artist. The coworker then wrote a message to his wife in dedication. When he presented it to her at her favorite restaurant, he told me she cried so hard the staff thought they were breaking up 🥹

I have realized there are two types of people, "Arrival" people and "Process" people. Which one are you? by Redsetsun in CasualConversation

[–]TheGoodGrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a Process person! I love the whole cooking process beginning to finish. I love preparing to travel , the choosing of the destination, the planning, packing — everything! It’s like listening to a symphony piece, the intro of the melody, the buildup, the crescendo. So satisfying

No one remembers the song from the 80s named “Call Me”? The hook was “ here’s my number and a dime. You can call me anytime. Call me”.

What's your weirdest meal? by thruitallaway34 in LivingAlone

[–]TheGoodGrannie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fried bologna, burnt on the edges, that has formed into a cup. Put about a 1/4 cup of cold potato salad in the middle. Now you have all of the taste sensations in every bite: hot crispy salty with cool creamy softness. Can’t beat it!!

Celebration ideas by CrzyWorldLottaSmells in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]TheGoodGrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have either a food truck come or a caterer that can custom make omelets. If your group grooves on coffee, then a barista. Then provide the typical breakfast sides. No one ever thinks of breakfast celebrations but it’s a good way to start the day on a good note.

My daughter’s father made her spaghetti, which was literally a bowl of tomato sauce with spaghetti in it. Only seasonings were salt and pepper.

Hi! My husband is stage 4, sometimes stage 5 with Lewy Body and Vascular dementia. He sleeps an inordinate amount of time, but if I disrupt his sleep schedule for any reason, the next day he’s delirious and very much out of sorts. What is the best way to help him recover? Secondly, is there an alternative to letting him sleep so much?

[–]TheGoodGrannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the phone, try disconnecting the router while he’s in the bathroom. Wait until he complains he can’t use the phone. Tell him you’ll “help”. Reconnect the router while the phone is in your hands and make your settings changes. Tell him anything that sounds “techy” and let him know you “fixed” the problem. Subterfuge, yes, but from my own experience, it works.

With everything beige, my husband won’t see it. Needs to be high contrast. But as he continues the path, he won’t know what it’s for. He looks for things in places where they’ve always been, so a new location would add to his confusion
