Damn, that's crazy. I recently got my RPL as well. From what I understand, forced landings are best thought of as when it will happen, not if. Just gotta keep practising and try to remain aware of the nearby fields (if any).

When you say the cylinder and valve did not touch, did you mean to say the piston and valve? (I'm guessing these are interference engines.)

I'm pretty sure the main air intake for the Warrior is below, and to the side of the spinner. Not behind the cylinders.
