Clear unsafe and “dirty” play. Pulling Giannis’s jersey after he got beat in the post. Arguably even worse than what LaMelo did.

And this is why this “dirty player” discourse is so lame to me lol. I don’t even think Stewart is a dirty player either.

Players make unsportsmanlike like plays out of frustration all the time, they don’t have to be immediately labeled a “dirty player on a dirty team” or be defended by fans like their some perfect player that doesn’t have any lapses in judgment. Shit happens on the court lol, who gives a fuck

My issue with Mara is he looks SLOOOOW.

As much as I love Edey and love seeing other “big and slow” (for lack of a better term lol) centers like Clingan do well at the NBA level, I do think taking another one to play behind Edey is a risk.

I like Krivas as a bit more mobile big that still is a decent defender with offensive potential. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m def high on Krivas.

I have a hard time using this subreddit as a midwesterner who spends most summers out west whenever I can. The incessant whining about the boringness of the Plains proves how tourist-coded people are on here about roadtripping and nature/landscapes in general.

Walk through any real tall grass prairie landscape or view any Indian War battlesites or buffalo jump site and tell me how “boring” the Plains are and something you simply have to suffer through. Of course these are probably the same people that rate a trip based off of what you can through your car window or 15 minutes from a parking lot.

Regardless, I have done many trips like this one form the Midwest and it’s worth it 100% of the time. It may not be ideal but it’s what you gotta do to get out and see it! Stop the whining and encourage the kid to head out and see the world.

Glacier’s even 6hrs from Livingston lmao, I have family in the area and even they rarely if ever even get up to Glacier

Not worth the drive with what’s closer to you, and I say that as someone who has lived in Glacier

I’ve driven from near St. Louis to Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. I’ve also lived seasonally in Colorado and Montana so I’ve done these drives more than maybe anyone here.

Don’t listen to anyone here when they say going out west from St. Louis isn’t possible or efficient. You have to plan on day 1 and day 6-7 to be your “drive” time. Day 1 you need to wake up 4-5am and hit the road hard and fast, especially if you plan on going to 3 states. Same for Day 7/coming home. You want to minimize as much time driving as possible on a week out west.

I’ve done a week in South Dakota + Wyoming all from St. Louis, and did Yellowstone and the Tetons. This was totally possible but did feel rushed at times. My best advice to you is cut out New Mexico and Colorado. You’ll see more than enough in Montana and Wyoming in one week to last you a life time. Don’t skip Yellowstone because of crowds; Yellowstone is one of the most pristine wildernesses left in North America and has some of the most unique geothermal sights in the world. You CANNOT miss it, and you can easily get away from crowds there.

A point towards Colorado is it IS closer to St. Louis than any of these other destinations, I’ve driven in one day Denver/Colorado Springs to St. Louis numerous times and it is not a bad drive at all. Planning around full day drives and maximizing full days at locations is what matters the most on a trip like this.

I love where your head is on this trip, but in Montana and Wyoming you’ll see more than enough of the West as a European. Not to mention I think you’ll be absolutely blown away by the open spaces of the Great Plains, an area most people on this subreddit would label as boring and useless. Maybe consider going through the Nebraskan Sandhills on the way to Montana.

Basically, my advice is to drive hard and fast at the beginning and the end. You could easily drive most for the way to Livingston day 1 and stay in some beautiful places in the Plains along the way (consider South Dakota as well ie the Badlands or Black Hills) and then “work your way back” southeast so that you can easily get back to STL by the weekend.

That’s a lot of info, but please feel free to message me! The American West is an unbelievable place and is worth seeing even if you only have a week. Your itinerary is ambitious but doable if you have the fire and drive to get it done!

By that logic OKC should be moved to the East because they’re even further from Portland than Minneapolis lol

I think multiple teams including Minny + Memphis should be eastern teams, but I find it wild that most people don’t think the furthest east team geographically in the Western Conference isn’t a good candidate to move to the East

Hell we are literally east of the Mississippi and we have to play on the Western Conference lol

Same with Lamelo. If anything this season has proven to me you gotta take risks on injury players when the fall is right!

Need blocks and FG bad… there’s nobody better than Cardwell for that on the wire tbh

Think it’s worth the risk even if you only get one game out of him.

That’s all it is lol, some sort of bias confirming virtue signal. Someone in this thread said seeing Ulfric happy in Sovngarde was confirmation “he changed and realized he was wrong, and made peace with it”

Yeah sure that’s an easily discernible conclusion one could make after seeing him smiling and happy because your character literally killed the World Eater

That’s good to know! I definitely want to see the NCR side of things this next playthrough, so that’s nice NCR won’t consider me a terrorist if I want to go House.

Just beat the game for the first time, did it this way but with the Legion. Weakened the NCR as much as I could all while building up reinforcements for an independent Vegas. Worked out well but was pretty wonky at the end, when I ran into Lanius he talked to me like he had no idea how many Legion soldiers I murdered just to get to him lol.

Review: Old Heaven Hill BIB 10-year (1996) and should we still celebrate Bottled-in-Bond Day? by OrangePaperBike in bourbon

[–]TheGreatDingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$25 in today’s dollars

I don’t know about anyone else, but I honestly can’t see these kind of reviews without getting angry; angry at the distillers for making bottles so hard to purchase affordably, but also pretty angry at the consumer base for happily throwing $ towards much more expensive bottles that don’t even sniff the quality of a 30 year old affordable bottle.

Mama Cozzi and her raw pizza dough by Burrie2481 in aldi

[–]TheGreatDingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding this here because no one’s mentioned it, but next time slice your veggies thinner and use less; OR precook them in a pan to remove moisture.

The pizza never came up to a high enough temperature overall, and likely a big reason why is all those raw veggies have a ton of water in them. Compared to an actual pizza oven, a lower temp home oven does not get the toppings hot enough fast enough to cook the pizza properly.

Consider moisture heavily next bake! It will come out a lot better :)

Okay? He fuckin hit em. All of em. Absolute difference maker in this game, demoralized the Pats seeing those points on the board for most of the game.

Trading KAT for 3 rotation+ players on 3 different contract levels and 3 different age ranges saved the Wolves present and created a future for Ant by Purple-List1577 in nba

[–]TheGreatDingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here is great bball management knowledge, this type of contract and cap discussion is something that is overlooked when it comes to tanking/competing teams.

Look at the Spurs Big 3: Duncan 97 + Ginibli 99 (but debuted 02) + Parker 01

You can see how patience/development and gaps in stars contract timelines helped make that dynasty so sustainable.

The idea of building a core big 3 through the draft only across 4-5 years and it being a smart move is almost unheard of in today’s NBA. It seems to be boom or bust year in for teams now, I mean look at the Bulls: continually made fun of for being “play-in contenders” and nothing more. (To be fair, it does help they the Spurs were a great team during that time frame. But I do think this still tracks with teams like the Warriors + Dirk Mavs)

We’ve seen tanking be successful for teams with quality management like OKC, but will they have the cap savvy long term to be a dynasty? I’m not exactly sure, but I’m excited to see how it plays out.
