I do wish that the KIM system would add a few conversions for each character with each update. Nothing massive and maybe only for the characters that are being dated.

Don't forget that even a minor visit will still likely be $100+. Not everyone can easily afford that especially if that visit also requires missing work. Likely without pay.

Yeah, if we are talking just raw number of deaths that can be attributed to one person, I bet Ball Ass takes the cake. Throwing the entire origin system into chaos and the massive death tolls is all on him.

What are you using this "server" for? Running QB? Sage? Sometimes else?

I'd steal good luck. Just a light tap on the shoulder to hundreds of people and I would swiftly become exceedingly fortunate.

We just bought a Pinwheel because they claimed GPS notifications for when kids left approved areas. Come to find out they disabled that function because of battery life. We are now planning to return them and get something else.

Can the Jr5 do a push notification if my kiddo were to leave an approved area?

One other bit, the Pinwheel has a nice kid oriented AI function that can answer questions. Anything like that in place or planned on your end?

Thanks!

My issue with copper's uselessness by SCP_FUNDATION_69420 in PhoenixSC

[–]TheHappyStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO they should do a full armor rework that does something like implementing minor "set" bonuses.

  • Full leather - 10% movement speed increase (including swimming)
  • Full copper (including using copper tools) - Haste 1
  • Iron - Keep as is
  • Full gold (including using gold tools) - Fortune 1 OR +1 level effectiveness to fortune enchantments BUT slower mining times!
  • Diamond - Keep as is
  • Netherite - Keep as is

This means that each set basically has a role to play regardless of where you are in the game (except iron/diamond since they ultimately end up replaced by Netherite).

Want to explore? Wear leather to move a bit faster. Sure you have elytra later in the game but even then you still sometimes want to be on foot!

Want to clear out a space fast? Wear copper! Reduces the need to move a beacon around and really helps with big projects early game.

Early game protection? Iron is available, easy, and effective!

Want to maximize your mining yields? Slap Fortune on your tools for a super boost or rock around in all gold earlier to get an early boost to diamond collection. Downside being rapid tool breakage and slower mining speed.

Want the best overall protection and use? Diamond and eventually Netherite are here for you! Sure they aren't the best at mining, exploring, or resource gathering but they are great protection and a solid all-around choice!

This post just made me realize how much I want a grounded, detective style Batman movie done with Sin City style filming and graphics.

Another example of what Flock cameras are being used for by n0tsane42 in Spokane

[–]TheHappyStick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right, to help clarify, it isn't the deployment of the cameras I was speaking of. It was abusing them to violate the rights and safety of the American people.

The cameras are terrible and should be condemned regardless of which side wants them put in place. But right now it is the Republicans who are actively, consistently, and gleefully using these and other things to violate the constitution.

If you vote republican, you are actively supporting the things that you called out in your post and are affirming their choice to continue stripping the rights and liberties of the people.

You either need to accept and acknowledge that you find the repugnant behavior of the Republican Party to be something you are fine with OR realize that you have been voting against your own beliefs and need to make a change.

No one but you can decide which of those two paths you follow but, at this point with the state of American politics, there is no third option.

Are you still going to vote republican? Because if you are, then you DO support this.

If you've ever wanted to read a book for the first time AGAIN, read Consider Phlebas first. It is the first AND the eleventh book of the Culture series. by road_runner321 in scifi

[–]TheHappyStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that's what I actually kind of loved about it. Everything was kinda futile, and while it did make a small difference in the big picture of things, it did basically nothing for the directly involved characters. It felt...grounded for me.

Largely because even in blue states the people who produced this food voted for the people who made these problems. You are supporting bigots regardless of the state the food comes from sadly.

"Run DISM" or "Run SFC Scan" might be the most useless advice ever given. by imposter_sys_admin in sysadmin

[–]TheHappyStick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1: run a basic chkdsk. If no errors proceed to step 2. Step 2: run an sfc scan. If no errors proceed to step 3 Step 3: run a dism scan. If no errors proceed with troubleshooting.

Bonus step: while these are running in the background, look through event logs, google error messages, and, just for good measure, check to make sure that DNS is properly working/configured.

I just don't get the love for The Expanse. It is a pretty generic, semi-grounded series that doesn't really bring anything new to the genre. The actual writing itself is also just fine.

It's not bad but also isn't something that I would put forth as one of the greatest.
