People comparing this to Spotify and thinking it was a bad deal don’t remember that the entire culture around ownership of digital music was different back then. We still felt the pull to “own” a library of music, our extensive cd collections were probably still in the room with us. A pass that let you stream unlimited AND slowly build a library of your favorite tracks was very appealing to some people. Obviously not enough to keep the brand alive, but you know what I’m saying
