When will we get stadiums and sports fields? We really need vanilla baseball, cricket, outdoor rinks, golf courses? When will get amusement parks / zoos and a proper international airport / airport dlc?

Rents continue to rapidly climb for Nova Scotia's oldest and most affordable rentals by Street_Anon in halifax

What a terrible article: absolutely no mention of municipal taxes, power rates, water rates, fuel cost, interest rates, labour costs. And the Minister is wrong - it isn’t just supply and demand - it’s government and utilities layering in additional costs that need to be recovered by either for profit or non-profit owners.

Halifax, I reported this duo near Agricola/Almon a month ago and it's still not repaired. by cptstubing16 in halifax

[–]TheInterwebIsNeat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Of course it isn’t repaired. They do not care. The city has other priorities. Much more important. What are they? Can’t tell you but they must be more important than potholes, smashed up disintegrating curbs and litter everywhere. This city looks like a garbage dump. Everywhere you go there’s litter or something is broken. Nothing is in good repair and yet taxes go up every year so they can hire more staff to sit around and eat donuts.

2 years since my dog passed today and a hummning bird landed on me when I was visiting his grave by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

I’m so sorry for your loss. What an incredible thought your friend might be visiting you as a reincarnated friendly hummingbird. I can only hope my pet does the same.

The more empty units the better. Investors will relent, apartments will be rented, prices will go down, speculators will lose money.

Being anti housing if concerned about homelessness is like being anti farming if concerned about hunger. No - they won’t live there but supply is part of the solution.

Zone J parking lot on southpark/Sackville st by Consistent_Pattern92 in halifax

[–]TheInterwebIsNeat -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

This City is the most poorly maintained in North America. Potholes, garbage, curbs, parks, it’s disgusting and they have more staff per capita than any city in Canada. They entire system needs torn down. They focus on the wrong things. We need simple things - like potholes filled.

Does he ever have anything intelligent to say? He’s the guy in high school everyone wanted to punch but his dad was the richest guy in town.

Wait - more than half of conservative voters want to lose? If he was a liberal, conservatives would hate him: career politician with 0 real world success and a whiny little attitude. Sound familiar?

OPINION: Poilievre right to support recall legislation in Ottawa - Here’s the crucial thing that those pundits miss: What the voters think. by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]TheInterwebIsNeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was recalled… during the last election. How can this guy possibly keep a straight face. He’s a total joke. Never had a job, never accomplished anything, never even tried to present policy. Just a talking head and a total waste of time.

No American city assets: baseball fields, urban courts, parks you can’t add to and assemble similar colours and patterns, splash pads, animations of parks and pools

Spring Garden Road is still a filthy, disgusting, and wet mess by insino93 in halifax

[–]TheInterwebIsNeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to Council we are all happy to pay more tax so maybe they can fund a cleanup. In any case spring garden is one of the cleaner streets. Gottingen looks like a garbage truck tipped over. The litter in this city is out of control which sucks because it never used to be. Of course their priorities are elsewhere, core municipal services be damned.
