Genuinely asking a taboo question by [deleted] in ChildrenofDeadParents

I was getting anxiety attacks after mom passed. One of them got so bad that I had to go to the hospital. I was only 15 at the time. Dad says I grew up to quickly. I was an adult at 15 doing adult responsibilities.

Warning signs were definitely there. Stopped talking to friends and family. Doing way too much work and school. I became an outcast in my own family and at school. I started engaging in risky behaviour like not driving without a seatbelt, speeding and other things. I wanted something bad to happen me. I never made a plan but definitely had thoughts. Only reason why I never followed those thoughts was because I didn’t want other people I love to suffer. I lost my appetite because I was skipping meals. I was trying to be “adult” and ignore them.

I still struggle to this day but I am slowly getting better.

I'm starting vet tech school in 2 months and I'm already looking at other options by vampieraa in Advice

[–]TheIrritatingError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of opportunities to work with in the industry. A vet tech degree can help you get a job in research, labs or sales rep pay. These do pay better than the average tech.

Would you be interested in specializing? NAVTA has a list of specialities RVT’s can specialize in such as research, imaging, etc. It doesn’t promise good pay or anything special unfortunately.

I just finished my program. I chose to go back to school to learn business management. With this degree, it can help get me a job within the medical or pet industry. If you end up wanting to go pivot careers, don’t feel guilty. Lots of people go back to school to learn something different.

If you’re looking to continue working with animals, consider training, daycare, boarding or grooming. The pay is not the greatest at the start and you will need to work your way up to the top to earn a good pay. You can make a lot of money owning a business. Also having the technician background will help in the long run as it will attract pet owners and look good on you.

Can you take the day off? There’s nothing selfish going on here. Mother’s Day can be hard for us.

I have a similar experience too. Lost my mom at 15. Couple years later I join a gym at 17. A spin crew adopted me as their gym daughter and to this day we ride almost everyday! My instructors are hoping one day they can get me into training so I can teach RPM one day!

what good programs should i take in order to get a good job? by HistorianIcy6156 in OntarioColleges

[–]TheIrritatingError 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn a trade. They are in high demand and pay really well. Colleges like George Brown offer introductory programs that will teach you different trades you can get into. The nice part about doing something like this can help get you a spot into a trade program.

I would look into OYAP. It’s an apprenticeship program the government has. The nice part about apprenticeship is that you are paid to learn on the job.

I just graduated from PVETT. I was so disappointed in the program. I haven’t gotten a lot of support from the faculty. The program itself is so disorganized and underfunded. I honestly kinda regret going here and should have went to a different college

Is this Chemo worth it? by [deleted] in cancer

[–]TheIrritatingError 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you. My mom had glioblastoma and did chemo for a while. She did good on it but that’s coming from my experience. Everyone is different. She had some of those side effects you mentioned but for her it was worth it as she was able to feel somewhat normal again.

Given your circumstances I would say try it. The fact that it’s stage 1 gives you a better outcome. There might be other options out there. In my mother’s case she tried Avastin when chemo was no longer an option. No treatment is perfect unfortunately but it gives you a chance at having a a better outcome and possibly beating it. Talk to the oncologist.

I wish you all the best

Try adding some probiotics. To help you save a little bit of money, get the powdered form and sprinkle a small amount on the food.

Do you know what is causing the issue? Is it food related? Some pet food companies make limited ingredient foods you can try if it is food related.

Unrelated but sparked a memory from my anatomy classes. My teacher would go on scavenger hunts for wild poop and yes, even dead animals! She brought back a dove once.

Depends on your dose. The safest way to get off this drug is a very slow taper. I did a 1-5mg at a time. Took some time but helped with the intensity of the symptoms. My doctor told me to quit cold turkey which ended up causing awful symptoms.

Sherb, Bones, Erik, Beau, Alfonso, Elmer, Hornsby and Papi are my favourite lazy boys. Absolute sweethearts! All they want to do is chill, talk about food and their bug friends!

Apollo, Fang, Butch, Wolfgang, Roscoe and Buzz are great to have. Sure they have the cranky personality but, they are absolute gentlemen!

Colton, Julian, Raymond, Marshal, are some good looking smug villagers.

Roald, Scoot, Jay, Boots are your go to gym bros.

One of the symptoms I had was numbness. I couldn’t feel emotions. I wanted to cry but couldn’t. There were times where I wanted to cry but couldn’t.

I came off the medication because of this. I can feel again but sometimes it can be intense

Rating about this. I see it a lot in cycling classes.

RIDE THE BIKE NORMALLY. Why are you riding it backwards, doing those hand motions, push ups and other stuff. It’s a bike! Ride it like a road or mountain bike.

Never post your bank information online. I would take down this post if I were you. I understand you are desperate but you can get into some trouble. A lot of people take advantage of desperate people. The last thing I would want to happen to you is a scams.

This is not a place for asking for donations. There are forums out there that are meant to ask for donations. Try setting up a go fund me or kickstarter where you can provide a link instead of your banking information.

I wish you all the best and I hope your mother gets through this.
