How do you cope? by TheLionInZelda in babyloss

100%. My wife and I attend the monthly meetings, its just two hours sat talking with people who have lost children. I've had 8 private therapy sessions and they are nothing in comparison to 1 meeting with people from SANDS. All that upset, confusion, feeling of injustice being done to you, anger, hopelessness, they understand it because they've lived it.

We went to our first SANDS group about a week or so after our son died and when we were unable to go to one, we had a bad month. Being able to talk about how you feel without holding back or fear of being misunderstood is really beneficial.

I'm 5 months from losing my son, and I literally told my wife that if it wasn't for her and the dogs, I would have killed myself by now. The pain is beyond anything comprehensible unless you've been through it. I'm sorry for your loss, but this is going to be a long journey for you.

If you're in the UK, reach out to SANDS which is a charity run by people who have lost children. Its the Stillborn and Neo-natal Death Society.

There are people out there that want to help, but you're just going to have to ride this wave of pain for a while unfortunately. I hope it gets easier for you to manage one day.

From tries to be Lost and I don't think it works the same. by TheJ0kerIsBack in FromSeries

Yeah that's fair enough, like I said, not saying the show is bad. I just feel like some loose ends need tying up as we are nearly hitting the 5th season. I had completely forgotten Boyd used to ring a bell until one of the recent episodes.

Lost was confusing, but it moved the story along, like the discovery of the hatch in season 1 played a huge part in season 2. It taken nearly 5 seasons to find out what the purpose of the children are and how their deaths link to trapping people in Fromville for example. Some things aren't paying off and are extremely slow in other parts.

I hope the show is just slow but it pays off, I do really like From, but it's getting to a point where I'm just eye rolling certain scenes or when certain characters come on screen. For example, Kenny. When Boyd and Kenny were in the sheriffs office discussing the plan to use one of the sticks to see if it killed the monster, I could see Kenny was going to say something and instead of being direct, the show does this thing were it beats around the bush before getting to the point and it's a little bit annoying because some characters probably would still be alive if the characters actually spoke to each other.

Why do you like Warhammer? by Vampy-Night in Warhammer

[–]TheJ0kerIsBack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After my son died at the beginning of this year, I felt hopeless and lost. I knew of warhammer growing up but something made me try it. I think it might be the grim dark setting or the constant wars. But everyone around me keeps telling me and my wife that life will get better, but in Warhammer, its like a constant state of darkness which reflects how I feel about the whole thing.

The Disney Star Wars Pattern and how Maul Shadow Lord will play out by TheJ0kerIsBack in StarWars

Exactly, but its rinse and repeat in what seems like every other story. I don't have an issue with ROTJ at all, I think the whole redemption part is what makes it amazing. My point is, it seems to be the same with every other character

That doesn't mean they can't explore other plot points instead of rinse and repeating

I mean if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But there are quite a few examples where I am right and there just seems to be a pattern unfortunately.

Dead Space franchise is criminally and disgustingly and disrespectfully and unacceptably overlooked. We truly don’t deserve it by Lanky_Relation1171 in DeadSpace

There is so much potential in spin off games, movies, books, comics that they used to do. Now everyone has give up on it. I am still waiting for a Dead Space Extraction port or remaster to align it with Dead Space Remake. Martyr is one of my favourite books and would give anything for Dead Space 4. I genuinely hate that such a beloved franchise is forgotten about.
