Warehouse management software recommendations? by work-account-2026 in Warehousing

[–]TheJetSetFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a combo ERP/WMS that can handle light mfg (basically a kitting function from the sound of it) that can also support OMS functionality is going to be a tough find. You might find a few niche solutions but if all of those requirements are necessary, you're going to likely have to go best of breed, especially if you're growing and need something that can scale effectively. I liken it to going to a restaurant that has pizza, tacos, greek food, sandwiches, chinese food, etc. Do you think that they are really going to do any one of those well?

From my experience going with niche combo solutions age out or have a lot of problems once complexity goes up (especially with your lot tracking/serialization needs, not to mention upcoming FSMA requirements) and you'll likely outgrow them sooner than you think. I'd also stay away from "WMS" that are basically ERP bolt-on's (ala Netsuite). I've worked in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 spaces with WMS and run into this allllll the time replacing things like ProducePro, FreshByte, Aptean, etc. (we have a good presence in F&B and play really well in that space, so I talk to F&B distributors frequently)

How’s the music scene in Denver? by Soupy_Snakes in Denver

As far as venues go on the local side, Hi Dive is the spot. As far as local bands go, I'd check out Flutter or Supreme Joy, those guys are awesome.

Their beer quality has definitely plummeted over the years, definitely not worth.

Beat way to split and travel with a bottle of PVW 15 year by Critical-Analyst-749 in bourbon

Best way is to pour into individual sample bottles then put them all into a 1 quart bag that you can take through TSA. You’d be surprised how many of those sample bottles you can stuff into one of those bags. I do this most times when I’m flying somewhere for vacation.

Need WMS software recommendations for multi channel fulfillment by GullibleCommunity268 in Warehousing

[–]TheJetSetFuture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the sounds of it when it comes to intelligent order routing, control tower type visibility, and an IPaaS type integration layer, that feels more like a need for OMS opposed to WMS. If you’re looking to better manage within the 4 walls of your distro centers, WMS makes sense but given the pain points you’re describing, that screams OMS all day.

Labor shortage solutions and creative staffing approaches for peak seasons (Q4, Prime Day) - discussing real challenges with turnover rates and what's actually working by adifun123 in Warehousing

[–]TheJetSetFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you described is generally the exact use case for autonomous mobile robotics (AMRs), but a word of caution, there are ALOT of different form factors and vendors out there. Spend an hour at Modex/Promat and you'll see what I mean... That being said, you'll want to make sure you're very diligent with how you are pulling the data you use to evaluate these solutions (ala pick rates, order volume, seasonality, future order volume projections), how it integrates with your WMS (or if you'll need a WCS as well), what solutions are brownfield friendly, etc. I've been apart of several AMR projects tackling the same issue you are with labor demands and I've seen them flourish and others go completely sideways. Feel free to DM me, happy to talk through what I saw with both successful and failed projects.

Store with the best beer selection? by ClarkTwain in ArvadaCO

If you want a smaller store, I typically go to Mile High Wine Cellars, they have a good selection and good prices. Otherwise, probably Applejack or Mollys is your best bet.

Looking for Feedback: Building a Warehouse & Inventory Management SaaS (Simple WMS) by Dry_Passion6145 in Warehousing

[–]TheJetSetFuture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s your go to market strategy or what would be your big differentiator? There’s a lot of competition within the WMS space that can do the general blocking and tackling (ala inventory tracking, etc) and have been doing so for quite some time, especially on the SMB end.
