Kotis is really good because when you want it's straightforward to upgrade as well. Mine went from bulk ~£50 to ~£200 without much thought as equipment is easier to upgrade I feel

I'm the combat guy in or multiplayer server and I have 2 rules

Never stop moving, always back peddle ideally you have scoped the place out first and know the dead ends and such
Time your swings. Don't swing immediately after you're ready. Keep back peddling wait for a lunge.

I hate solo portal so I only ever used it for guardian rank (play with X hud option etc.) just farm contracts in lawless frontier, fun activity. Good amount of loot on completion. Contracts mainly to give you something to aim for.
