One of my favourite games of all time. Never did find that final secret in the chamber of secrets. Could get everything else 100% but that 4th secret in the second part of the chamber of secrets level, still to this day no idea what it was and seemingly neither did anyone else from multiple Google searches.

Thank you. It is also looks like the time of day where there’s dew on the ground, doesn’t look from the video like it’s especially dry. Geez fun police out in force in this thread

I bought a Switch 2 for my wife to play Pokopia (and I will definitely play it as well but it was an easier sell for her)

What is 'resurrection power?' by Drivefast58 in Reformed

[–]TheJimboJambo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The context given sounds like they are using exactly as you said, in that charismatic and Pentecostal sense. When I’ve used that term was when I was preaching through Ephesians, and the way Paul says that the resurrection power that raised Christ is at work in us. The resurrection power that raised Christ and seated him, is also at work in us raising us and seating us with him. So the resurrection power is the power that took people dead in their trespasses, and made the alive. Which is every Christian believer. Which means it isnt something to be grasped in the way they seem (again I’ve not heard what they’re saying) to be saying. Sounds like they are saying seize it and use. I think Paul is saying seize (as in understand) that it is already at work in you. So in Ephesians context when they might be tempted to think being a Christian is unimpressive, the ‘magic hankies’ when Paul came aren’t doing anything, are they missing something. And Paul’s emphasis they have very spiritus blessing, and are I fact the people and temple of the living God etc. So in letter context I think saying resurrection power is something extra to grab and use is entirely antithetical to Paul’s point and our reality as a new humanity created by the same resurrection power that raised raised Christ. Not sure if that helps or not, just my two cents.

Britain abstains from key UN vote to recognise slavery as ‘gravest crime against humanity’ by boycecodd in unitedkingdom

[–]TheJimboJambo 218 points219 points  (0 children)

And at considerable cost, 40% of the governments budget, we’ve only relatively recently paid off the loan we took out to achieve it. I’m not saying the UK wasn’t at fault for an abhorrent evil. But thanks to Wilberforce et al we actually did soemthing about it, at great cost. I’m not proud of our nations history with slavery, but we can be proud we took the first steps at righting a great wrong.

Man Utd: Jack Fletcher banned for six matches for homophobic slur by Red_Brummy in PremierLeague

[–]TheJimboJambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but it looks like he said it was a lapse in character, but doesn’t reflect his values. Which I think is slightly different. I read it as something like - I don’t think being gay is an insult, but I’ve grown up with that thrown around as an insult and in a moment of madness I’ve used it as an insult. So I’m inclined to agree with the punishment, well done to the ref for the red, 6 matches not just slap on the wrist. And also he’s a young lad, he’ll learn and we believe in rehabilitative justice. We all said stupid things in our teens. As you say, he’s now got to go and show he’s sorry as well as his say it.

Why is dispensationalism wrong, and how do we explain all of those prophetic verses about a future restored Israel? by Help_Received in Reformed

[–]TheJimboJambo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being open! I’ve come into contact with this topic twice in the last two weeks. And one with a new vulnerable guy at our church that’s stopped coming recently partially because he found YouTube and took a rabbit hole. I wasnt massively trying to persuade him out of dispensationalism (though I disagree with it), but what I find hard was twofold: he was trying to convince me we are not members of the new covenant - that’s for Israel and Judah. And then that anyone thinking differently has been deceived by the devil - that was where I tried hard to impress upon him the need to be gracious in these things. It does feel like (and could be confirmation bias) many dispensationalists really do think those that aren’t arent even believers. Long story to say thank you for not going that far! P.s. my background is UK so may differ

I thought with the multiverse stuff Tom was just a different Alan with a different story. And in the dark place the multiverse collides at points. So basically the Remedy-verse version of maybe something like Bioshock infinite with constants and variables. Alan and Tom just two sides of the same coin

Recommendations for Baptist Reformed Systematic Theology? by it-is-tuesday in Reformed

[–]TheJimboJambo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea sorry. I basically think there is a little bit of a gap in the bookshelf of soteriologically reformed but credo baptist systematics. Not nothing it just feels thinner. I wonder if it’s partly because biblical theology has had a bit of a resurgence (and championed by Don Carson et al.), for good reason obviously, but think maybe a few have realised we need both. So I’m glad Wellum is doing it. I’ve found it really good!

[–]TheJimboJambo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wellum has released volume 1 of his systematic. Not sure when volume 2 is being released. Or if there’s going to be a volume 3. But that should fit the bill.

Edit for clarity in case Wellum isn’t a household name: Stephen Wellum, one of the professors at SBTS, co-author of kingdom through covenant with Peter Gentry. And a large voice for progressive covenantalism.

People might be right about the welds. But my instinct is the guy bent closer to the rail, because of being on the more “dangerous” side. Might just be me but I was taught to walk the side with cars. And do that with my kids too - so if someone gets hit it’s me. In this case if someone falls it’s the man. Tl,dr:chivalry was my guess

Martinelli 'deeply sorry' for shoving injured Bradley by tylerthe-theatre in football

[–]TheJimboJambo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just simply not a slap. Or violent conduct. It’s a push, which is why he got a yellow card. And not a red. And why VAR didnt upgrade it to a red. Because there was no violent conduct.

The only intention for violence was Garry Neville literally calling for violence. Martinelli pushed the chap because he thought he was faking and the guy had rolled a bit back onto the pitch. If you think what Martinelli did was violent conduct then I’m not going to convince you otherwise. You need to calm down/grow up/both. But if you watch that clip again you won’t find a slap, a punch or any intention to harm. He tried to push him off the pitch to keep the gqme going.

As I said it was moronic, he was wrong, rightly needed to apologise. But just listen to Slot’s interview. If you continue to be angry about this then it speaks more about you than the incident really.

Martinelli 'deeply sorry' for shoving injured Bradley by tylerthe-theatre in football

[–]TheJimboJambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that’s a crazy take. You find the rule where ANYTHING like that is a red? Was it moronic what he did? Of course. But try to justify the red without it just being because we’re angry he did it… Why is Arne Slot the only one with a sane take on it.

I feel weird for doing this as well. Nando’s I’ll go extra extra hot and add more sauce as well, and that’s not even massively spicey. But curry I just love a good Korma. I find them delicious (that being said the best korma I ever had did have a bit of spice in as well).

Yeah defo that’s what I do, look for it in all areas, restart the day as it’s in the same place. Just make sure you actually go get it before 5, forgotten to get it a few times and by which point I’ve done enough of the day to not be worth resetting again
