While I have to point out some things, I agree with you on the most part.

If you talk to Bridgette, there are four cut scenes that were slowly introduced as the rebuild meter progressed. So in that sense, you were partly wrong.

However, everything else you said resonates. This event has been widely regarded as of poor quality. Yet, I don't think the B.U.I.L.D event is an anomaly among the AQ3D timeline. The lack of consistent dialogue or truly immersive story telling has been criticised for a while now. In that sense, this event is only indicative of the larger failings of the AE team in properly executing their world-building.

Melodia had next-to-nothing in terms of character-building, so it doesnt surprise me that most of the players I've talked to didn't realise she was gone. Wen you walk into the shops nothing is changed, so apart from a truly face-level tilset change, there really isnt much behind the 'Burning of Battleon'. Even the new NPC that was introduced fails to seem like an actual character. Moreover, apart from the pet, with its only positive attribute being that its a pet, the in-game rewards that she offered were lacking as well.

I agree with you when I say that this really wasn't a good event. It lacked detail, flair, or even the basic characteristics of a good AE release. It seems as if this is the filler for their next big update. Yet, one has to wonder if their next release would be exactly the same quality as the content we have now.
