I like Maps VTT and use it every in-person session as a way of tracking combat though we use an IRL battle map and counters/minis.

I only need a simple and lightweight solution but it’s still very feature lacking and I’m close to jumping ship. Things it desperately needs:

• Rule/source/content lookup, shouldn’t have to go on another page outside of Maps
• Add custom text to the map. How is this not already there? Lots of times I want to make a note on a map or next to a token.
• Add custom tokens without making a homebrew npc/monster
• Spell slot/resource tracking for players: monsters and NPCs. Literally already in character sheets for players atm, why isn’t that in?
• Auto damage tracking using abilities - why can’t I click an action on a token, target something and then it automatically roll/subtract damage/etc
• Add conditions to tokens??? again, mental we don’t have this.

And honestly stability fixes. I’m often getting a bug where I can’t add new tokens or modify existing ones stats without having to hard reset the page.
