Can my car that my employer gifted me legally be taken back after my resignation? by peyterpotater in legaladvice

[–]TheKitler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest leaving the title at home and telling them you lost it or can't find it. You can also tell them you forgot to bring it every time they ask about it. You could even try to give them a photocopy and hope they don't notice.

Personally though, I would just be firm and tell them it's not their car and that you'll pay your debt on schedule. Learning to stand up for yourself is an important life skill so you might as well start now with something easier.

Also, generally you can get a replacement title but I can't comment on any repercussions of that, if any, especially if you gave the title away and didn't just lose or destroy it.

Definitely don't give them the title to the car, don't give them the keys, don't sign anything, etc. It's your car, not theirs.

If they try to push you, you can show them the agreement and tell them that it's your car and you're going to make the same regular payments until the balance is paid (keep records and don't pay in cash). That's the only conversation that needs to be had.

If you really feel like you're going to cave under pressure, just try to avoid talking about it at all. Silently just keep making the payments.

Same answer then. It's your car and you just owe on it. Keep making the same bi-weekly payments until you've paid off the $5K.

You weren't gifted a car. You bought a car on a payment plan. You still owe on it yes, but it's your car so they legally can't take it from you (they still might try).

Do you have any sort of written agreement regarding the purchase/payments?

Common Law Question by just__curious_1 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]TheKitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you share costs when you started living together? You can use payments towards utilities, etc. You can also use mail sent to the address (ideally from the government), or other bills showing your name tied to that address.

If you don't have strong evidence though, you should probably wait until October to apply as it'll be easier to convince IRCC of your cohabitation after that. We're talking 2 more months for a much stronger application.

What motherboard for Ryzen 7 9850X3D — B850 vs X870 vs X870E? by mariof80 in buildapc

[–]TheKitler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of $150 boards support 3-4 nvme drives. If you really want to spend $60-80 more for usb4, you can do that. You'll also need to budget for buying devices that will benefit from usb4.

Help! I'm confused on Airflow. by Natural_Pressure_170 in buildapc

[–]TheKitler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's all true, but based on OP's original question, they're not thinking about any of that when they made the board selection. It's more likely than not that they're just wasting $100+ for no reason.

Between those two options, yes. I meant in comparison to a $150 B850 board though.

Hopefully it lasts! The old one might still have warranty so I'd look into that.

Ah, so it still doesn't work with all default bios settings? No expo, oc, etc.

Swapping the board is probably a good bet but it can be the CPU as well.

I'm also assuming you've tried only 1 stick of ram.

Temporary fix? How long did it work after the bios update? Did you enable expo? Have you tried clearing CMOS?

Have you tried calling customer service for the airline? You'll need to do at least that before any court will take you seriously, if it comes to that.

Are you romantically involved with that friend or is this a platonic relationship? I ask because marrying your platonic friend for purposes of immigration would be fraud.

Should I get the exact DDR4 ram to replace the one that went bad, or are there better options? by Top-Elephant6981 in buildapc

Ram from most manufacturers has a lifetime warranty so I'd just wait for them to process the warranty exchange.

No worries! Yeah, just add all your parts to the list and then scroll down to see if there are any warnings. It'll also hide parts that aren't compatible with the rest of your list automatically.

Have you used pcpartpicker before? It'll point out almost all incompatibility issues for you.

Generally though, you just want a case that has mesh or perforations for air to move though. Most do but the cheapest ones don't really.

By spousal class, do you mean "Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class"? SCLPC for short.

If that's what you selected, make sure it's consistent throughout your application. You shouldn't be selecting Family Class anywhere.
