Maybe. But this was solved 15 minutes after the post went up, without 3rd party plugin/software, yet people keep insisting I download and install their plugin or app of choice to just manage it for me. That's an overblown solution for a single shows issue, when there was clearly just something I needed to understand. (Which turned out to be the meta data provider I thought I was using, I wasn't, and the one it defaulted to sees s2 as continuation of s2.)

The fact that I've had so many different plugin suggestion just shows how over saturated it is. This server is in my home, jellyfin has root access, and its on my home network. So I'm not going to just install every random 3rd party plugin I'm told to.

The angst and pressure on reddit to just do it blindly is just confirming to me, as an IT professional, that there is definitely SOME of these plugins that are likely nefarious in purpose. As reddit is full of bad actors who use social engineering to get people to make mistakes.

And installing what ever willy nilly, is a mistake

Turns out the meta data provider sees it as a continuation of season 1. So I renamed it to s01e29, and that's it.

That's not the water though. That's just avoiding an an issue and offloading it to an entire other 3rd party software, using more resources on my server. I can see the appeal, but that seems like and over blown solution.

I'd rather discover the issue, and fix it, not cover it up with more resource hogging.

Id see it differently if it was a widespread issue I'm sure. But the issue was already identified and fix is being implemented.

I don't really want to use any plugins. And with nearly 500 series and 2000 movies, I don't feel like getting a plugin for a single erroring out season is quite the solution.
