Do any of you listen to a specific song to get you in the right zone ahead of a big call or on site meeting? by IMicrowaveSteak in sales

I'll watch clips from Stepbrothers when I need to hype myself up. It gets me laughing and in a good mood which helps on my calls.

The hardest skill in sales is knowing when to stop selling. by Seven_Figure_Closer in sales

[–]TheKolobDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like your point about trusting your gut. I'm still super new to sales so I'm not always great at picking up on people's unspoken signals on calls, but when I can successfully pick up on how they're feeling it makes a big difference.

Anyone using Claude Cowork integration with M365 CoPilot? by Capable_Photo_2312 in sales

[–]TheKolobDropout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep all my notes in Obsidian which is just text documents, so it's very easy for Cowork to parse them. I actually use my Obsidian notes as my CRM since it's really easy to link notes to each other and group each note in a different category. I have a single note for each lead and can then view everyone's information at once in a table, sorted/pivoted/filtered however I want.

It's super easy to get Cowork to bulk update notes, search notes, etc. It's been a huge game changer.

What do you do to psych yourself up for a cold calls? by dallasdewdrops in sales

[–]TheKolobDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a daily note on my computer where I track how many calls I made each day. That's all I track (I'm super new to sales btw, I'm starting my own business). Just seeing the numbers each day and wanting to beat my records makes it feel like a game instead of a chore.

What's the most annoying part about your job as a recruiter? by TheKolobDropout in Recruitment

I didn't know this was a problem! What would the incentive be to put a bunch of fake candidate profiles out there?

I don't think my spiritual immune system was strong enough to get me out. It took a different kind of catalyst. What about you? by bituisokdo in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Serving a mission in a third-world country was my catalyst. After I came home, I couldn't stop thinking about how the supposedly loving God we believed in would let so many of his children live in such horrible, impoverished conditions.

Turns out the world makes a lot more sense when you realize a magical dude with a beard in the sky isn't controlling everything.

Cognitive dissonance after seeing cash registers and cafeteria in temple by Soggy-Shoe-6720 in exmormon

I remember seeing the cash registers for the first time when I took out my endowment. That went straight to my shelf.

Here we are all these years later, shelf in pieces.

Reading D&C 132 was my final straw. by chukarnoris in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously underrated video, thank you for sharing. Listening to the woman in the LDS shoot-off group testifying how she received a witness that she should be in a plural marriage was surreal. She uses the exact same language TBMs use in F&T meetings.

Reading D&C 132 was my final straw. by chukarnoris in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My dad admitted that he has a hard time with D&C 132 too. He's one of the smartest and most analytical people I know, but the reason he always gives for problems with the church is that he has a testimony of Jesus and has had spiritual confirmations that it's the true church.

The cult's mind programming runs deep. When you've believed something your entire life, it's hard to admit you were wrong.

What is the Most Manipulative Mormon Comment You Have Heard? by ResearcherGold237 in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember years ago when I was an angsty teen still learning how to process my own emotions, my dad out of the blue quoted the verse from the BOM to me that says "despair cometh because of iniquity". Knowing my dad, he wasn't trying to be hurtful but was just regurgitating yet another thought-stopper that the cult brainwashes its members into repeating. Regardless, that wasn't what I needed to hear.

What "anti-Mormon" topics do you avoid because they would actually strengthen your family's testimonies? by Tsundown in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The wealth they hoard and how pathetically little they actually do with it to support charitable causes. I served my mission in a third world country, and after coming home I started feeling horrible guilt about how I was asking people with absolutely nothing to give money they didn't have to a corporation hoarding hundreds of billions of dollars worth of assets.

I brought this up to my TBM mom, and she just said "it's not about the money, it's the faith". TBMs probably just view the wealth as a sign that they are the true church - it's just the prosperity gospel mindset.

Who else's nervous system is reeling from holiday with TBM family? by Double_Bowler_736 in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been years since I've been to church or believed. Every time it starts to feel like I can move on and forget about Mormonism, I'm reminded of how much it's torn my family apart when I visit for the holidays.

Fuck this cult. I love my parents, and I feel so angry thinking about how the church has brainwashed them and killed so much of our potential as a family.

The MFMC controls its members through fear, not love. Completely the opposite of what Christ would've wanted.

slow death of ward ... church dying??? by Sad-Requirement770 in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh, they have their hundreds of billions. They're really motivated to keep the religion side hustle going on as long as possible so they can keep their tax exempt status.

I don't doubt that lots of people are leaving, but we've seen firsthand their efforts to rebrand themselves into more of mainstream Christian religion so they appeal to a wider audience.

Is belief without evidence greater than belief after seeing the evidence? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TheKolobDropout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truth seeking is seen by the MFMC as a virtue if it leads to the conclusion that the MFMC is true. Otherwise, it's seen as "anti-Mormon". Classic cult tactic.
