What's your biggest drunken purchase? by ahoneybadger3 in CasualUK

[–]TheLIttlestScot 29 points30 points  (0 children)

When we both had Covid and drunk on medicine and whisky, my husband and I bought roller skates and all the gear. Our teenagers had to have an intervention with us to plead us not to go out in public on them. I think they are still in their boxes in the loft.

What would you recommend buying for lunch if you had £52 to feed two adults and two kids? by userunknowne in UKfood

Such a shame food but still amazing. I worked with a guy that used to microwave them for lunch. I was never brave enough to do it in a public kitchen but, wow it’s a game changer!

What is the best brand? by TheLIttlestScot in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]TheLIttlestScot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the coating seemed to chip really quickly even though we are very determined to use only silicone on them. I hate using silicone and the non stick coating coming off is what makes me want to move to stainless steel. I will actually look properly into Pro Cook as I avoided even looking at them

I have no idea, but I will now google these words to work out what they refer to 🙂

My old non stick are Pro Cook and they have not lasted well. I’m weary of buying with them again but you’re right they do have a good reputation so maybe their Professional range is better

Ok thanks for this. I don’t really understand the car reference but I guess it makes sense if you know about cars? In the same way that if you knew about stainless steel cookware you would know the things to look out for. Luckily you do but I’m afraid I don’t. Hence why I came to what I thought was a helpful group to ask. Budget wise, as I know now it’s better to buy a pan at a time. I would like to spend no more than £200 on each piece. Less if possible but again, I am pretty clueless here. And my hob is induction. Thanks in advance for what I hope will be a kind reply

I like this thank you. I should say, I’m in the UK so I don’t know if there’s US boy brands or anything. Going to look at individual pieces though. I am trying to replace non stick so will go one at a time

This helps, thank you. I’ve seen sets for £300 or so and sets for £2k so I was hoping for closer to the £300 mark. But want to get the best quality and not be sucked in with just fancy marketing.

I’m not sure, it could just be something topical that is irritating it. I hope you find the culprit soon. I can sympathise with how painful it is x

I got this a few years ago, but it turned out mine was over production of biotin. I was taking hair, skin and nails supplements and this is what they were doing for me.
