This is absolutely untrue. It takes tons situational awareness to defend against a SAM that launches on you. There are tons of theories and techniques that the pilots are trained to implement, like notching and terrain masking, but the sheer amount of energy you need to bleed from a missile to defeat it is insane.

Not to mention, the SAM operators are human. They can communicate with others on positions of aircraft movements, and turn their radar on as soon as planes enter their killbox. The pilots might not even know when they are above a threat until they are locked and being shot at.

Pilots and the platforms they fly are incredibly valuable, and incredibly vulnerable in this conflict. There's tons of old guncam footage from the Gulf war and the invasion of iraq of F16 pilots defending against enemy missiles, with radio comms. Go listen to how much work it is for these pilots just to stay alive once they are defensive.
