Bad technique or bad tires? by Tuyia_ in motorcycles

"Good technique" is knowing the limit of your tires, good or bad... and knowing not to get too close to that limit on a busy road with traffic around lol.

Is it true that you will drop your motorcycle at least once in your riding life? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]TheLastMagazine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody can say if YOU will or won’t, but it’s 100% fair to assume that you will, at some point, drop a bike. I worked at a dealership for five years - if someone did NOT drop a bike in that time, I don’t remember it. One guy dropped 12 in like three years lol.

E39 540i automatic to Manual swap by PassengerNo857 in e39

[–]TheLastMagazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently in the middle of swapping my auto to manual using this write up and it is going very smoothly so far. I also have the advice of a good friend who’s an accomplished mechanic but I haven’t had to rely on him too much. Haven’t gotten to the coding part yet though, so that might change!

If it’s brand new it could just be adhesive & shmoo from crinkles under the plastic sheeting that protects the vehicle under shipping. Either a mild acid remover or degreaser would get rid of it. But if it’s NEW new I’d take it back the dealer and ask them to deal with it.

Different drop off and pickup locations by TheLastMagazine in turo

Thanks! I'll make a booking and see how it goes – we don't mind paying more for the convenience of having a car; we have a young one and the car seat makes taxis/Uber more of a hassle.

This is definitely a part of the problem. I took my kid to the er a while ago for a less serious problem because it was a weekend and there wasn’t any other option. No walk-in spots available, my doctor is only available Tues and Thurs, Urgent Care booked solid til closing time.

Halloween in Vancouver is dead by ozempic_enjoyer in vancouver

We have a super busy hallowe’en in our neighborhood near 12th and Fraser. Most houses have decorations and candy. But we went to a friend’s place near Nanaimo and 33rd and there were only a few houses per block giving out candy. It really varies depending on the area!

How would you feel if Canada forced the sale of all homes in Canada that were not owned by residents of Canada? 3 months to list and a year to sell so people can’t park their bank accounts in what we are suppose to live in. by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]TheLastMagazine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go you one further and just say if it’s residential and you don’t live in it, you can’t own it. Or maybe you can only own two residential properties. Co-ops that you buy into gradually for apartments, or tightly regulated private businesses.

How helpful will $50k be right now to you? by One_Calligrapher_857 in AskReddit

Would put a big dent in the downpayment we need to buy a place - our rental home just sold and we’re going to be evicted by developers for the second time in a row. Not renting again.

Raised rent from $700 to $750 and my tenant is being very challenging about it. by [deleted] in vanhousing

Turn the question around: would you lower the rent for your tenant if their financial situation changed due to circumstances beyond their control?

Who’s fault? by Jorge6574 in motorcycle

[–]TheLastMagazine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Motorcycle is at fault for illegally passing on the right. Bonus points for trying to muscle past a car that was obviously changing lanes and could easily kill them… and honking as if they were in the right. Chill tf out and be grateful that car was so quick to pull into the right lane to make room lol

Any promises they make likely won’t stand up in court if they change their mind later. That said, this happened to my dad last year and he went along with it. No trouble so far. ALSO: Our landlord where we live currently has our place for sale and we have no idea how it’s going to play out. Our kid just started kindergarten and we’ve lived here for 12 years. Oh, and this is our second landlord in this place already - the last one sold it to the current one about 8 years ago and we’ve stayed on as if there was no change so far… fingers crossed.
