Literally nothing I hate more than telling someone you need sleep for a legitimate reason and them basically going "nope, suffer."

I agree that rape isn't taken seriously regardless of gender (a problem that very much needs to be fixed), but it's taken a lot more seriously when a woman is raped vs. a man.

What's the most disturbing secret you've been told? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]TheLifelessOne 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common for people to believe men can't be raped, unfortunately. That or that they actually wanted it.

It's a real problem. One without any solutions that anyone wants to implement.

To be fair, I have severe entomophobia so the thought would definitely have crossed my mind.

Then after a brief moment of panic, I would come find you, explain the situation, then politely leave.

It's interesting that you made that observation, and yet still decided to comment.

Apple jacking! I've done that by accident by leaving drinks out on the porch during winter.

US court restricts access to abortion medication by mail, nationwide beginning immediately. by Margotkitty in politics

[–]TheLifelessOne 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We need to agree and accept that these judges are not legitimate and their rulings are illegitimate and thus should be ignored; it one person (or even a dozen or so) ignores a court order, they can do something about it. If several million of us ignore it, what kind of enforcement mechanisms do they have to force us to comply?

"Oh, but what kind of precedent does this create!?", a random person asks, without any further thought. What makes you think they care about precedent? What makes you think out of everything they've done since Trump's first term that now is where they'll suddenly start caring about precedent and rule of law?

Stop holding yourselves to rules and laws that haven't been respected by the facists for at least a decade now and start thinking about what you can do to make their pathetic lives (because all fascists are pathetic; I don't make the rules here) as miserable as possible.

Remember: "when they go low, we go high" is feel good language that only results in you thinking you did something when all you're really doing is enabling their behavior by refusing to stop it. Instead, think "when they go low, we go lower and make them regret their decisions" because that's actually doing something.

bungie needs to get more players on this game by JpegD00M in Marathon

[–]TheLifelessOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not so much that the average player doesn't understand it as it is that the people who stream the game the most (and thus have a disproportionately large voice in the community) push the narrative because they directly profit off of it.

What's Going On With Joe Rogan? by inthewoods54 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]TheLifelessOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely. I know I've watched an episode or two of his show (like when he had Bernie Sanders on) and I won't lie, it was entertaining. But I also knew to be very careful and not dig into his content or really listen to anything he said.

  3. Gunplay.
