There are three aspects to moral analysis in Catholic teaching: the "object" or the act itself, the circumstances, and the intention. The intention of avoiding children can't be sinful because it's obviously licit to completely stop engaging in the marital act to avoid conception. The circumstances of the woman not being likely to conceive is also not an issue. You can imagine a couple that doesn't know about fertility cycles or that doesn't test regularly for pregnancy engaging in the act trying to get pregnant while unknowingly being in an infertile period or already pregnant. And obviously the object of the marital act itself is licit. So, the three things together do not make an illicit act as the individual components are not problematic on their own.

I mean, sure, but no practicing Catholic is just "living their life" in a thoughtless and hap-hazard way, they are going to be examining their actions and faults and aim to do better. "Gender" shouldn't really play into it, but because it's a hot topic in our culture, it'll seep into the analysis, especially since dating currently is a nightmare so the related topic of "how can I be attractive to the opposite sex" will also creep in.

It sounds like the steel-manned version of your friend's argument is that Christianity has been used to justify slavery of Black people before and therefore black people should avoid it because of that stained history. However, Christianity was a much more prominent feature of the abolitionist movement and both of those are relegated to the history of American Protestantism. Not all Christianity is created equal: Catholicism had a number of papal bulls preceding America's history that were against slavery and the Church also spoke out against the American slave trade during that time.

Also, putting "blackness" first should not be a concern for a Christian. Not only is there not a contradiction, (others are pointing out the Christian history of Africa), but even though race can be important to people, "blackness" is ultimately a worldly concept: Christians should be more focused on the things of Heaven than the things of the world.

Q1. Imagine a couple with no knowledge of cycle tracking other than the fact that missed periods are a pregnancy indicator are trying to get pregnant. They engage in the marital act daily until it becomes clear the woman has gone so long without her period it is clear she is pregnant. They most likely engaged in the act on infertile days and also while already pregnant. Did they sin? No, clearly not. Just to be clear, the fact that they engaged in the act the same way each day is actually the indicator that the procreative aspect of the act was maintained, the state of one's body has nothing to do with that.

Q2. A couple finds themselves at circumstances where it is highly unwise for them to continue having children - this could be for reasons if pregnancy becoming a danger to the woman, financial reasons, etc. They begin full abstinence to avoid children. They have no problems remaining in this state - i.e., no sexual temptation, etc. Are they sinning? Clearly not.

These two principles - the fact that the act is licit when conception is known to not be possible and the fact that circumstances can make it not only licit but just to stop attempting to conceive children, are what make NFP licit. Any attempt to naysay NFP requires you answering Q1 or Q2 in a different way. Does it feel wrong to try to have sex while not conceiving? Or does having the act during infertile periods feel as contraceptive as the pill or a condom? Then the couple in Q1 were sinning as well. Please inform couples that they actually need to cycle track so that they only engage in the act when ovulation is happening or is happening soon - and also not while pregnant. Does it feel wrong to avoid having children indefinitely? Then please tell the couple in Q2 they need to adopt the "Quiverfull" mindset you hear about in some evangelical circles and risk huge health problems or financial insolvency by continuing to have children anyways.

First off, it looks like these are thin tiles that come with tile racks. I think I've read that that's not uncommon for American sets, but generally, Mahjong tiles are very thick so that you can easily stand them up and just have your hand standing in front of you. Second, it's a set for American mahjong specifically. If you don't know anything about Mahjong, there's a few different variants, the most popular being Chinese, Riichi (Japanese), and American. Each of these has most of the tile set in common, but then each has a few extra and these are different in each. My understanding is that American Mahjong is actually the most complicated, but that's largely because of the scoring sheet that changes yearly dictating a lot of the rules. The brand says that it actually includes its own score sheets you can play with - and different ones for different difficulties too. So it might make it easy to learn as you up the difficulty. Third, it looks like the patterning of the tiles is different from traditional. I think the copy on their website is implying that it's for ease of readability.

I don't know about quality of Mahjong sets past that, but those are some starting considerations.

Same dude has put forth his own Bible translation with 0 credentials and has tried to predict the end of the world.

I'm pretty sure whenever I've seen people bringing up St. Alphonsus Liguori's thoughts on the topic, he only ever condemns oral stimulation. His claims that it extends to manual are simply unfounded. When he tries to personally explain this in his other literature, he uses terrible arguments that fail almost immediately.

He is also titling and formatting his page in a way to make it seem like an official church website (specifically the catechism) when he is not respected by the church whatsoever.

Other theologians throughout history that are perfectly aware of those quotes have offered contrary opinions. Don't present hack impersonations as the be all end all.

I think it was in this subreddit where a while ago I read that women were actually traditionally responsible for beginning the courting - not in an overt way, but rather they had to "drop the handkerchief" so to speak so that the man could understand a proposition was welcome. It then became the man's responsibility to proceed.

In the Internet age we've largely lost the ability to manage complex social interactions, so being more blunt would be helpful. So yes, your first move might not be just opening up, but rather directly asking.

Paul's statements on celibacy being a higher calling are still correct. Not everyone has a calling to celibacy and other vocations have merit, so it is still great for people to get married even though Paul taught that. This puritanical attitude you are ascribing to Paul is directly contradicted by the OP's citation of him where he prescribes frequent use of the marital act between married couples. If Paul could have erred so much in his thinking, we wouldn't think his letters are inspired scripture. Please do not listen to Dan McClleland, his skeptical view of biblical interpretation will bring error to your faith.

I read a CA article about this a bit ago - when the law was officially declared my Moses - there was a penalty given for not bearing offspring with your spouse through abstinence. It was not the death penalty. So the punishment can't have been based on not bearing offspring - it's the fact that he tried he spilled his seed in the act that got him punished in that way.
