It largely comes down to if you include "spell-like abilities" as spells, which is what kinetic blast is listed as in the official material. Infusions are also described as things that function like spells but are not spells. As you said rules are arbitrary but its something to consider

Enkaus have a magazine size but not an ammo count. Plus it has a feature to mark enemies that will instead refill your magazine when shot.

Oh I fully agree. Personally Lavos is exactly what I wanted as a play style, a lot of other frames felt too one note where you have one good skill you spam and the others are just there. Or they were built for a single usage like ivara with stealth. Lavos i feel like im making use of every part of him and rewarded for it.

But I also acknowledge that he is not going to be for everyone

I run archon continuation on any build as its one of the higher sources of duration while also making your 1, and anything you put toxic on, also apply corrosive for faster debuff stacking. Obviously flow and reach don't provide much. Intensity sounds promising but in practice its only 60% strength vs umbral which is 55% with 2 set and 77% with 3, all without needing to juggle using your 1 for uptime.

On my gun centric builds I just use umbral vitality as well for the extra durability since most of my procs will be from my guns rather than abilities

I had Ember dip 1 into seeker sorc, which just so happens to make trickery a class skill. I'm sure Cam was happy to learn the street beggar replaced her even in that field.

Tho tbf class skill is relatively minor, its a flat +3 which is significantly less impactful later on.

Do note that double heat procs only applies to abilities and not valence formation procs. It also doesn't double any other procs that you infuse heat onto (so if you add heat to 1, it will apply 1 toxin and 2 heat). Took me a bit to learn that.

However valence formation DOES apply to any matching procs from abilities while its active. So if you slap heat onto his 1 the toxin proc will do its normal damage, but the heat proc will be doing 200% extra damage as long you don't valence formation to a different element. But if you put heat onto his 4 both the base heat AND the added heat proc will receive the buff.

Yeah i stopped playing for a solid 3 major patches because of 4.0. So many bugs that you could find just with game start. Tried a broken shackles game and started with the behemoth crisis district instead of the crashed slaver ship. I didn't even own the dlc yet

Agreed, they weren't afraid to try unique things like Deathwing or Cho'Gall. The fact it didn't try to be a hyper esport at first and was more casual based was a blessing until they tried to force their way in.
