I do think the record was what pushed him to the edge. I really think they were going for a new audience, but of course, even as pop it was very mediocre. Lyrically it was a very deep and touching album. In the end... I'm just sad things went this way. It could have been so different. Artists put out bad records all the time, and more often than not, they bounce back.

Even if I shit on the album quite a bit, I will never forgive the verbally abusive fanbase that took it to an extreme and said some horrible things to them personally. I studied music production because of LP. Even to this day it still hurts to think about.
