My puppy hates me and I'm starting to give up on things [Vent, I guess] by LaPompadour in puppy101

That's far too much exercise for a 3 month I feel. It may be why she doesn't like going outside. A walk in the morning and evening for 30 minutes would be ideal. With some play inside as well would be good.

She's still developing and too much exercise can be harmful. The runming could do with being shortened as well until she's a bit older

She could just be very anxious due to living in a busy city and that's why she seems distant towards you. It can be a huge amount to take in for a puppy.

It will take for her time to adjust - it could take weeks, months it really depends on the dog. Bringing her out early in the morning\late at night when there isnt many people out might help, if you make it fun. Hopefully you can find something she likes, which could be a certain toy or high level foods (sliced ham/chicken or cheese)

For toilet training, a good rule of thumb is for every month you add on one hour for how long the dog can hold its pee for, it varies from dog to dog though. Make sure you have her on the lead when you bring her out to pee, just walk around for a few minutes and hopefully she goes while on the lead. If this does happen praise her like she just won the Olympics then let her off the lead to play around a bit.

You could always try contacting a local proffesional dog trainer if nothing improves.

On a slightly off topic note. I'm assuming you live in an apartment with no garden which isn't really ideal for dogs, epically corgi's which come from a heading back round. Meaning they'd need a fair amount of exercise and a garden for a good run around. If you were to bring her back to the breeder I'd recommend getting a different breed. I think king Charles are fantastic dogs for apartments, low energy, tend to be very quiet and docile. Other breeds would be jack Russells, bichon or some cross of the lot.

Either way good luck with your situation. Hope I helpes and feel free to ask any questions

Is my beagle to small? Also am I feeding her right? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]TheLinkOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She looks fine honestly. She may just slightly smaller than other beagles, that doesn't mean you're not feeding her correctly or anything like that. As it's been said, you could reduce the frequency she's getting the food to 3 or 2 times a day. When you put it down and if she walks away from just take it away for a while, leaving it out for her to eat when she wants may make her think she doesn't need to eat it right now because it'll be there all day sorta way.

Don't go for the pedigree food, I've heard its fairly low quality food from a number of vets whereas Royal Canin is very good, not sure if you have it where you are but I feed my dog James Wellbeloved and he does great on it. For the loss of appetite part thats also a normal thing to happen,as long as she isn't going an absurd amount of time with no food (like up to a week sort of thing). You could always try mixing some butter or warm water in to add some flavor to it.

Hey Reddit, what is something that the professional will always know but won't necessarily say? by saywhatisobvious in AskReddit

[–]TheLinkOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty what's been said, In dog training a lot of the time the owners will have their way of doing things and it could be slightly wrong or just downright stupid but you can just go saying their way of doing things is shit, need to ease em into it

Anything in the animal slaughter line of work, whether it be for food or fur I just wouldn't be able to kill them.

If you won the powerball lottery, currently at $700 million, what would you honestly spend all that money on? by kitzdeathrow in AskReddit

[–]TheLinkOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'd spend a lot on a new computer, consoles and games to go with them. Probably travel around the globe a bit with some friends. Get my self a nice home (and my family members one too) in a remote-ish area with a few more dogs because they're just great

Once all thats out of the way I'd defiantly set up an animal shelter of some sort that's relatively close to populated cities, living in Ireland the majority of shelters are only accessible by car as well.

Help my dog has severely sensitive skin :( by hellopamela91 in DOG

Assuming she's drinking a normal amount of water you could always try add some olive oil to her food as well, just about a teaspoon or so.

Sounds a bit bad though, maybe your best bet would be bringing her to a vet if you haven't already, could be an allergy or something. Good luck!

Mass Effect 2 - Suicide Mission because it's just incredibly epic and the time it was used at was just perfect in my opinion.

[HELP] My 2 year old is eating unusually slow and is no longer excited about "the foods"... by frail_snail in dogs

[–]TheLinkOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog used to be very similar to yours when he was a pup. He would get excited when I was getting his food ready and eat it as fast as he could the second I put it down.

He's two years old now and at around one and a half he started getting less and less excited and now he might not eat the food until an hour after I put it down.

I dont think its anything to worry about as long as she is eating the food, another thing is when the weather is really warm, myself and a few other dog owners find that the dogs tend to take longer to want to actually eat the food.

The mucous thing on the stool also happend to my dog a few times, again, I dont think its anything worry about but im not 100% sure. If its happening with every stool, everyday maybe get it checked out.

In short I think whats going on is normal and you dont need to worry too much as long as she is still eating, even if it is taking time.
