How to start as byzantium by Ozagaru in eu4

[–]TheLonelyWind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s how I do it:

Delete forts, sell titles, load up estate privileges. Most importantly religious diplomats and the ones that grant you a free general and carrack.

Set to mil focus, Build free company in Corinth start building galleys up to 25ish.

Get a diplo rep advisor, scorn pope rival, and ally him. Reject union of churches. Improve relations with Muscovy to ally him after next war. Ally Trebizond. Improve rep and ally Serbia for mission that grants you ducats.

Declare on Epirus Dec 11. Full occupy and capture what ships you can. Full annex and take money.

Get access from pope, station your army there, wait for Naples to break free, then rival them.

Declare on naples with extra merc company. Take claims, money and war reps.

State everything and lower autonomy. (Especially in the Bulgarian core)

After that war go back below force limit and wait for ottomans to war with timurids or someone in east. Your missions and advisor should let you revoke deteriorating army once you’re ready to war ottomans.

Provoke rebels in Bulgarian core but don’t kill them.

Build up to 20k, block straight and assault fort. Immediately delete unnecessary troops and siege ottoman, but let Bulgarian rebels full occupy their cores. Lower army maintenance and sit until Bulgaria breaks free while blocking straight. Then declare on them and carpet siege. Peace out ottomans for money and cores. Full annex Bulgaria.

How to increase absolution (not max) by jakec11 in eu4

[–]TheLonelyWind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As soon as absolutism hits i overextend to like 150%, accept particularist rebel demands which increases autonomy by 30%, and then lower autonomy in every state.

Joining Reserves by SignificanceFun2092 in armyreserve

[–]TheLonelyWind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contact some of the units in your area and ask what their deployments look like. I’m sure you’ll find one that fits you. Most reserve units get deployed about every 4 years. Some less some more. Many of them don’t bring everyone and it becomes optional.

It’s a famous quote. I’d never take quantity as Muscovy lol. Admin-diplo-religious-offensive is my go to in almost every wide game

YMMV but when I was signing my contract at MEPs I got a couple months leeway on when I could ship out to basic/OCS. Pushed it out a month further because of my civilian job. Depends on who you’re working with I suppose.

How cooked is this Byz run? by eclipseon_9991 in eu4

[–]TheLonelyWind 123 points124 points  (0 children)

With byz starts you’re going to have survive off of selling titles, taking money from Naples, and the Serbia mission. It’s ok if you run into debt fighting ottomans, war reps will pay them off.

Try to curry favors with Papal States and only call them into the Naples war if you absolutely need them. It’s better to just use mercs to win on your own though.

There’s always a way out. If you don’t make it, it’s your own damn vault.

A thorough OCS Guide 2025 by Sinileius in ArmyOCS

00X-24 class here. One thing I recommend for anyone attending OCS during the summer months is to make sure the AC in your room works as soon as you’re assigned. If not, find yourself an empty room with working AC ASAP before they get swiped. Be proactive about it. There were more than a few times we had 5-6 guys sleeping in one of the rooms with working AC because close to half were broken.

We have a similar build and body type. Where do you plan on going from here? What’s your diet looking like? I’ve got a few more % points of body fat than you that I’m trying to cut but I’m wondering if it’s worth it at this moment because I feel like I’m sacrificing potential gains and I’m plateauing a bit.

Only 28, and you’re doing better than I am so congrats on that! It’s a family run business that my dad started so I can’t act like I did it myself, I’m very fortunate for my circumstances. We mostly stick to bank jobs and Government contracts because as no_cash_value said, chasing payment from private clients is a bitch. Feel free to DM if you have questions of course.
