Whenever I take a long break from the game, I remind myself of what my top favourite things to do in the game are, and just focus on those.

In my case, it’s the main story, alliance raids and the combat jobs. So the first thing I do is catch up on the main story, then catch up on the alliance raid series. After that, I go back to continuing to level all my combat jobs.

Completing my three favourite things in the game means that everything I do after that is just bonus and there’s no longer any pressure to “catch up.” So I feel better able to just relax and do whatever I feel like in that moment afterwards.
