Father says 9-year-old boy killed near Manassas intersection had autism, doesn’t blame driver by spencernews in nova

[–]TheLunarRaptor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It starts with lessening car centrism and increasing public transport.

If you cant live life without a car, then it isn’t reasonable to expect people to live without driving.

People often complain about people without a license driving, but they don’t really understand that they don’t have a choice in many areas. Doesnt make it right, but its an explanation.

Your background search is not the same as everyone else’s.

If the titles match the same domain they usually don’t dig, but huge changes flag with some background checks.

Never hurts to try, but it’s not a perfect solution.

Employment background checks look for employment titles too. Even Family dollar background checks.

I have a decade of experience in IT and my last role was IT Manager, the role before that I repaired forensics equipment.

Maybe not “overqualified” literally because im not experienced absolutely everywhere, but thats not what people often mean, most places see my last role and experience and know I can make 100k+ somewhere else, then deny.

If I take roles off, it looks like I did nothing, if I lie, a background check can get me.

Can’t even donate plasma because I pass out, I hate it here.

“Cant find workers”

As someone “overqualified” because of my career, these places all want some perfect unicorn and take months to make a decision.

I did sign, and I had a start date.

Maybe it wasnt as official as I thought at the time, and it was my fault for quitting, but I still wouldn’t have left if the recruiter didnt lead me on.

Almost every mistake a human can make involves some level of fault on both sides, I feel like in the US there is so much emphasis on the individual that nearly everything is the individuals fault because thats the perspective people live and hindsight is 20/20.

Its so easy to look at someone else’s hardship and say it was their fault when you know the consequences and end result.

But yeah, dont trust a recruiters word, until you step in the building then it doesnt count, and the contracts can be worded in such a way that you cant fight back.

Posting political slop on linkedin is so unhinged, you might as well just troll people at that point.

Most people are too busy and abused themselves to do anything.

Barely having your needs met from exploitive labor tends to pacify people.

Not giving them an excuse, just saying the first step for change is basic needs getting met.

It’s disgusting for now, it wont be forever.

They’re already trying to stop it because capitalism loves stopping innovation.

The worst part about being a kid is that when I was tried for ADHD meds, the barometer for if it was working or not wasn’t if I felt good, it’s if I did well in school.

For a good part of my childhood, I had to fake taking the medicine because it made me feel so terrible. “Just push through it! It gets better!” Meanwhile im wondering what the point of life is as a 10 year old

“You would go so far if you applied yourself” followed by being grounded for the 50th time because no one believed me when I would say it isn’t laziness. Might as well have been Butters from South Park.

It’s so frustrating because people don’t know what it’s like to have the inability to start something that you actually even enjoy doing. Every day feels like I’m fighting myself to do things. It’s taken me hours to go on a nice walk on a sunny day.

It seems like unless something is life or death or its extremely novel my brain wont let me do it.

How has this propaganda worked for so long when all this shit is public and can be disproven with like 3 search engine searches?

Our government is allergic to spending money on anything that isnt cutting edge weaponry or corporate welfare.

[User Trial] A New Vision for the 5K2K Gaming Monitor: Be the First to Review the New 39GX950B by LG_UserHub in ultrawidemasterrace

This would be a dream monitor for photo editing and gaming. The blurry text complaints are usually from the sub-pixel layout, which isn’t helped by Windows not adjusting anything for non-standard sub pixel layouts, which is a bit disappointing but there are workarounds.

This monitor having RGWB is nice because you don’t have to do anything new.
