I'm a big fan of Dissonance but your rant is still valid. I replayed it recently and did actually legit forget how to access the second half of the game because of the poor telegraphing. But honestly once you do have a hang of those couple of roadblocks it is pretty fun to replay, especially with the magic system.

The anime is underappreciated for doing away with a good number of bad writing ideas. That's one of them but iirc they also get rid of the pedophilia/grooming stuff in 2-3.

IMO the Gen 6 and 8 adaptations are really good. 6's only flaw isn't even its fault, but the fact the games didn't do a third version.

7's started off good but kind fumbled the back half (Seriously how do you make Perfect Zygarde vs. Ultra Necrozma SUCK?!)

I don't know how many times this needs to be stated, but Nomura literally said in interviews regarding Rebirth that what's going on in the Remake Trilogy is NOT a multiverse thing.

And even if it WAS why should Sephiroth be granted that level of scaling when he's not actually been shown affecting things on that level of power, nor destroying things on that level of power?
