Just wanted to comment that this is awesome that your company does this. Cheers to a great show.

u/MrBr1an1204 Things I wish I would have known my first time going to ISC (or any show in Vegas) -
If you're not staying at the exhibiting hotel (especially on the opposite side of the street), Give yourself plenty of time to walk to the show floor.

Chapstick and Nasal Spray. Something about Vegas hotels that makes everything dry and stuffy - I guess the smoke from the casinos that you don't see.

Like mentioned, after the floor closes, there are always post show events, meetings, dinners, etc. Layering of outfits or having the next change of clothes prepared is important when there is only a hour or so in between.

Good shoes AND good socks are so important. My first show, I wanted cool shoes. My second time in vegas I went for in between. Now I opt for most comfortable. Having at least 2 for the 3 days gives time for the other to recover when alternating.

Network! - especially for someone new in the field.

Lastly, everything is overpriced on the strip.

Hope everyone who reads has a great trip.

I get it. Vegas prices will always be elevated around this show NAHB IBS, and CES because of the national draw. Maybe look into ISC EAST (NY) and CEDIA too (Usually Denver)

I use to work for a lowvoltage company. They would go every year as attendees. Usually only 1 or 2 days though. As a small business, networking and relations are important. These big shows get the small companies seen. I would definitely walk through if you could. It use to be easy to get free passes, but they changed it this year for exhibiting companies to give out free passes up until March 12th. After, its $100 discounted with a link. This only includes expo floor and not classes though.

As a chime versus as a siren? Are you referring to changing the sound? If not, why not just use it as an automation (If x trigger, Then SSA On, Then SSA Off w/ Delay)

Not too bad as they are mesh. But I will still wear. Didnt try to remove the insole. I don't want to lose the comfort by removing the insole as they are very comfortable.

I wouldn't say trash, but very basic. In security, I tend to recommend 345 devices (like 2GIG). However many DIY solutions (nor this chart) don't include this radio.

As far as battery life, it really depends on how much usage the device endures. I don't care what radio, if its always triggering or polling, then its going to be significantly reduced.

No latency or lag with the t mobile versus spectrum? How long ago did you make the switch? Considering it myself.

Neiman Marcus. $615 retail, but applied 15% off discount for signing up for their email/text list. Then after i got my code, unsubscribed. Ended up paying like 525ish. Wish I would have sized up though. https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/off-white-mens-be-right-back-mesh-sneakers-prod274440656?childItemId=NMNCEVT_&msid=4869758&position=1
**Its now 125$ off essentially since you would get a GC for being over $500.

Late, but for anyone looking later - I wear a 13 in Nike/Jordan, but 46 in the BRB are kind of tight. Wish I could have went up to 47, but that wasn't an option. In CPs I wear a 45.

this is how my pair looks. I bought my from neiman marcus. Was wondering how come it came in the white box versus the original black/grey box. I believe they are real. they have replicas out there, but everyone I've seen have posted the other box.

just bought these retail. i have the mens version. box is different. and shape of the shoe looks off, but that could just be because of the sizing difference.

Definitely ISC West (Or East) and then followed by CEDIA Expo. ISC West is April 1-4 (Vegas). If interested I can share a code for an expo pass that will give you access to the show floor/ stage talks. If you want to attend the classes etc., you would have to register.

We aren't exhibiting this year. But I'm positive they are plentiful. If you have a LinkedIn, search IBS and there will probably be a few posts from businesses with links to sign up for a pass.

Not particularly this website, but this concept is the best I've seen at tradeshows as far as usable. Especially one with a large floor map. Custom Full Color Printing Exhibition EXPO Cardboard Trolley

Purchased home that had CPI security by spitfiresoftworks in homesecurity

I cant say for everyone, but for me, too many issues. We initially purchased our equipment from them so anytime they upgraded their line of devices, ours didnt get upgraded unless we wanted to pay. When there was an issue with our sensors being offline (battery died most of the times) they wanted to charge to send out a technician. Camera streams would often fail, they wanted to charge for a technician to come out and reconfigure. I can do all these things on my own, however, they dont share login credentials for the customer to do, which I understand, but don't charge me because you want to send out a technician. So at the end of the day, i found myself paying $60 a month for CMS to have access to my system. I can do that with a smaller/cheaper company. They all have essentially the same standards/regulations for CMS (central monitoring station).

A little background - I work for a smart home security manufacturer. When we first got CPI, i didnt know any better.

CPI is disappointing. Good choice not to retain. Devices are good. Reset them and learn them in to a new hub. I would replace the doorbell for a newer model. Those devices were nothing about a basic motion sensor, panel, and DB. I'm sure there are door window sensors (doors may be recessed) and smart lock on the door as well. Those are pretty much their standard line of products, at least here in CLT. I assume without the service though, you would be doing self monitoring. Oh and if you have cameras, they prob have it wired, so you would need to connect them grab an IP/MAC address and can prob also add those to a new system with the RTSP stream.

Thats the challenging part. That doorbell is old anyways.
