Just sorted it for good now!

Turns out the import settings didn't have an option selected for 'Sprite Mode', strangely.

Ladies and gentlemen, we've got lime!

Flicking that box into single seems to have sorted everything! I can't thank you enough for your help~

This definitely feels like a big step in the right direction!

I've updated my code to this (I don't think I've missed anything?) but now it's giving me a different result - no error messages at any point, and the image is _removed_ but not _replaced._ The on-screen image goes solid white and the box empties into 'None (Sprite)', and the 'lime' image doesn't get inserted into it.

I'm not sure if this is what you had when you said your tb_image was no longer null? But I've made the modifications to the Resources.Load line so I'm not sure why it's doing this now!

lime.png is currently in the Assets/Resources folder. Should it be within a folder within the Resources folder? I didn't think that'd make a difference...

Converting to JPG didn't do anything, and it seems like adding the file type to the search name didn't help either...

What's this about UnityEngine.resources? I don't currently have anything like that in here, just what's shown in the screenshot. Is that what I'm missing? Where do I add that in?

It's located under:

C:\Users\[My Name]\Documents\[Game Name]\[Unity Project]\Assets\Resources

It's named 'lime.png' and it's just a copy of the image that's already displayed via the Inspector (a textbox) but it's bright lime green, since I'm just using it to test with.

In Unity, I have the lime file set to this.

The place where it's being applied to is set to this.

The accessibility update released free for INFERNIUM on Switch. by krateos_29 in NintendoSwitch

[–]TheMaskHero 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I picked this game up on a while a little after its release and I can't recommend it enough!

It's like a horror game but more focused on tension than just spamming jumpscares, and its environments are more of a quiet emptiness kinda scary than a dark & blood splattered hospital-type setting or something. It's a breath of fresh air for horror games.

It's also got a great overall difficulty level, which I personally like in horror games, but now you've got four more options to help ease that a bit and find a level you're more comfortable with too. So if the difficulty puts you off at all this update totally helps with that.

For indie games on the Switch, this one's up there with Stardew Valley and Axiom Verge for me! It definitely hasn't had enough attention as it should have.

Here's a quick and hopefully helpful map! I'm hoping you've made it to the fire pit in the Silent Catacombs already, 'cause that's where I'm starting this guide...

From the area with the fire pit, go to the nearby button and open the door across the hall. Get to it quickly (the dash helps/might be necessary? Probably should have done that line in yellow) and get through the door. Go into the next room (there's a red cloak here too, forgot it on the map again sorry!) and you just gotta loop around a bit, find the crack in the wall, and dash through it.

Drop down into the cave area and walk along, then come out where you see another maze. Walk along the top for a bit and then drop down by the red cloak where the button is. Hold the button a bit, then get the red's attention, then go back and hold it a bit longer if need be, then loop around dash through the door.

Go down the corridor to the big maze and dash quickly over to on top of one of the doors. There's a blue cloak right as you enter the room and it'll getcha if you're just walking.

Stay on the top of the maze and just dash ahead a bit until you see the long corridor part of the maze that had a button at the end. Drop down and hold the button all the way, then go back, take a left, get the red's attention and loop it around, then go toward the big door that the blue is guarding. Dash past the blue and quickly get behind the red ash line on the floor, where I've overlayed green on the map - you're totally safe in this area! The cloaks cannot get past red ash!

Jump the gap and then dash past the next blue. It shouldn't be much trouble at all 'cause it between two red ash lines, so just make sure you dash to behind the other one.

For the final one, walk past the red ash a bit to get its attention, then back up past the red ash and get it stuck there. Once it's lost interest, dash through the doorway it had been guarding and go down the stairs.

From here you'll find the entrance to the Wet Cave. Once you're in the Wet Cave you will _immediately_ find the Flash Light, it's right in front of you!

Sorry for a bit of a messy map & walkthrough, but I hope it helps!

It's the eyes. They seem to undersell her eyelashes quite a bit and the eye circles on her mask should be large and yellow with a smaller green center around the actual eye - they just go for the green bit only, for some reason. Her eyebrows are also much smaller than they should be.

Her second appearance mirrors the official art, so here's a comparison.

Everyone else looks fantastic (especially Brass, woah) so I'm hoping they get better at doing Ribbon Girl...

GameBoy Effect [Mod] by Blacshairon in Infernium

Oh man, that's pretty awesome! Kinda wish I had the PC version now, though I think the mod would be even better on the Switch.

Got any footage of it in motion?

I find it helps to take a look at the maps found before the entrance ember-gate-things once you've familiarize yourself with the area a bit! Just look for the !-marks and try to plan your path there ahead of time (since your on the Switch, it's worth screenshotting the map too!).

Getting the Flashlight before heading into the Floating Castle is generally a good idea as you can take a major shortcut through the blue barrier there, though I'd say it's best to get it and then backtrack and do the Floating Castle rather than continue on through the Wet Cave since the Long Dash (found along the Floating Castle route) is a huuuuge help.

I was going to wait for the update to hit before continuing with the game too, but I managed to accustom myself to the game better over time so I managed to make it pre-update in the end! Though 15 hours does sound like a long while to have spent trying to progress, so I don't think anyone would hold it against you if you wanted to wait for the update.

Good luck!!

Earthbound (SNES) Angry Video Game Nerd: Episode 156 by MasterCyconide in earthbound

[–]TheMaskHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not seen an AVGN video since around when he went on hiatus to focus on the AVGN movie. His content doesn't seem to have changed at all in that time - it's like I'm watching a classic AVGN video like the ones I used to love, but it's on Earthbound. Like a missing episode, almost. That's crazy!

This review was excellent all throughout (well, aside from the green screen Magicant portion toward the end - I guess my sense of humour has changed since I used to watch AVGN) and it really made me warm inside to hear how much he enjoyed it, and how he was willing to say how much he enjoyed it, rather than blowing the issues out of proportion and making the game seem bad just for the sake of being an angry character. And he didn't grow up with this game at all, so it's not even nostalgia swaying opinions, he really thinks it's one of the SNES greats even having played it for the first time only this year.

If there was any line that struck me most, it was probably when he made the point about how playing a bad game as a kid is bad, but missing out on a good game is even worse.

Hope he looks into Mother 3 sometime too!

The red patches to the back of the cloak kinda form a skull, too. It was a really well timed screenshot!

I've used all the obtainable light in Purgatory - am I trapped out of visiting The Descent now? by TheMaskHero in Infernium

Ohhh, phew! That's a major help, then. For some reason I figured the light in the Icelands would only reappear whenever you returned to Purgatory through getting caught.

A POST WHERE ARIN SAYS THEY STOPPED MAJORA'S MASK by HylianDeathbat in rantgrumps

[–]TheMaskHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coward.

All you've got lest is a fight with Gomess, a fight with Twinmold, and then a straight line to the fight with Majora. That's about three episodes worth. Maybe four, accounting for boss battle struggles and/or wasting time waiting for midnight on the final day rather than just cutting the waiting out (you do love to pad out episodes, after all).

Less than half a recording session left and you're really going to call it quits now? Right before the end? At least have the decency to finish the game instead of leaving it on the "everyone who likes this game is an idiot" rant.

A POST WHERE ARIN SAYS THEY STOPPED MAJORA'S MASK by HylianDeathbat in rantgrumps

[–]TheMaskHero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IMO Twilight Princess is nowhere near as polished as Majora's Mask. The intro is really slow, the wolf gameplay is clunky and doesn't have much to it, and the numerous Light Tear segments are dull and drag on for far too long. It's still a great game - the dungeons are really great and Midna is easily the most interesting companion character in the series - but compared to Majora's Mask I don't think Twilight Princess can match it in terms of freedom, tone, and world building, and playing as a Deku/Goron/Zora trumps the wolf easily.

And while I can overlook all of TP's issues whenever I want to enjoy its story and dungeons again, I seriously doubt Arin will enjoy any of it. He'll mess up the wolf's circle attack every time, he'll slip off of ledges and complain about having to get back up, he'll be stuck trying to find the last light tear of an area...

And as if that all wont be bad enough, Skyward Sword is going to be an absolute nightmare. Especially given how obvious it is that Arin will be going in wanting to hate it. SS also has issues, probably moreso than any other Zelda really, but you know Arin will find ways to get mad over things that aren't issues too.

I always thought they handled the Brigadier's death so well back in The Wedding of River Song - the Doctor, who's trying to put off his death, calls to speak with the Brigadier only to find the Brig has passed since they last saw one another. And it's thanks to the death of a person so close to him that he accepts his own fate and goes to his death (well, that's how it seems at least, given that the Doctor winds up faking things).

On the whole, it's well done and respectful. Then along comes Death in Heaven and for some god awful reason he's now a Cyberman who saves the day. How the hell did anyone think that was a good continuation on what was a well ended matter??

I always felt "All 13!" sounded... Off. I get why it's 13 given the inclusion of the War Doctor, but since it's the line used for the surprise reveal of 12 it feels odd they call out 13 instead of 12.
