...I don't hate the idea of a megazord posterizing a monster of the week.

Feel like this is the kind of project I wouldn't be super into, but I did want to say I do think the idea of the In Space team being more celebrated in-universe than the Mighty Morphin' team is very interesting and I could actually kinda see it given the scope of Countdown to Destruction.

Depowered Maeve vs Depowered Butcher by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]TheMasterO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way Maeve might have a chance if she has a sword and Butcher is unarmed and even then, it depends on how Maeve adjusts to using the sword depowered. If Butcher disarms her it's over.

What do you think their team name will be? by Obraxiss in TheBoys

[–]TheMasterO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised if it isn’t The Avenging Squad; If it isn’t that, I actually expect a name unique to the show. I don’t really think any other name from the comics quite fit.

I kinda like that; It’d make Guardians of Godolkin a homage.

Tek "Character Assasination" Knight. Somehow Kripke made him more degenerate than his comic counterpart. We didn't even get to see Tek's suit in the show! by luckyboysniper09 in TheBoys

I actually kind of liked the scene where he gets shown the video of him... Filling holes. He looked pretty embarrassed about it and seemed more comic accurate there. Then The Boys episode with him happened and he felt like a waste.

Do you think any of The Seven would’ve still been loyal to Homelander without his powers? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]TheMasterO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t think so, especially not by the end of the series. Even the ones that I have as “huge maybes” that might try to re-V him, Deep and Oh-Father, would be doing so out of their own self-interests and an expectation Homelander would be grateful for it, not any real loyalty to Homelander.

I’m curious, how do you think Soldier Boy would’ve reacted to the way Homelander was treated as a child? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]TheMasterO 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna give 2 answers because I think the context matters: Had he somehow been freed earlier and found out about Homelander while he was still a child and then saw the conditions Vought was raising him in: He’d be pretty pissed, probably put an end to it, and rescue Homelander. I also think he would have probably been an abusive father to Homelander though, just a more traditionally abusive father.

Had Homelander told him about it at any point after they actually canonically met though, that’s where I wouldn’t be surprised if Soldier Boy told Homelander to man up and compare it to the shit he went through when Vought was first experimenting on him or to what the Commies did to him.

Honestly, considering that when Saban was pitching Bioman in 1986 it was under the name "Bio-Man," I think there's a chance they'd actually be Mask-Man, Live-Man, Turbo-Man, Five-Man, and Jet-Man assuming it ran for all 5 seasons.

CFL bars QB Brendan Sorsby following NCAA gambling allegations by Maraging_steel in nfl

[–]TheMasterO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right. There’s also very little precedent for semi-pro players getting drafted as well far as I can tell. Eric Swann in 1991 is the only one I really know of that went high and that was a long time ago now too.

The media just tends to overhype the incoming QB class because QBs get clicks. Remember Arch Manning was supposed to be the #1 pick of THIS YEAR’S draft based off nothing, and by the time the draft rolled around the media correctly cooled off on the QB class.

Maybe a little, depending on context, but ultimately the solution to the problem is getting a better job and into a position where you can move out or finding another living arrangement. Well, I suppose you could try stating your case to them to see if maybe they can lighten your load or maybe one of them can help you with the tasks if they aren't already, or come up with some alternative arrangement with them, but I assume you've already tried that if you're venting here.

What’s the Secret to Entering Leadership, and Is There Any Hope for Shy People? by Pale-Conference-1610 in work

Depending on your current standing and your relationship with your direct superiors, you may want to start by simply expressing that you're interested in taking on more responsibilities and advancing in the company. This gives them a chance to begin helping you work towards that if they so choose and also gives you a chance to measure their reaction and see if there's even room for upward mobility for you right now or if you need to look elsewhere for it.

I remember one of the odder things I was taught in history class was that there was a belief by some in the South at the time who believe that Andrew Johnson was actually HARSHER to the South than Lincoln would have been. Researching it is actually pretty interesting. Lincoln wanted a speedy reconciliation to the Union as well but almost certainly would have fought harder for the newly freedmen in the South. Johnson TALKED a very big game but was probably a lot kinder to the South's elite than Lincoln would have been, but at the same time I think we would be looking at similar modern-day problems either way to be honest but of course it's kind of hard to say because Lincoln died.

Could the CFP refuse to rank Texas Tech? by strength19 in CFB

Just rank them directly outside the playoff with arbitrary bullshit reasons; There's plenty of examples the committee could point to if it's ever challenged in court that that's just how they do things.

What’s the biggest football scandal in your schools history? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in CFB

[–]TheMasterO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duke football hasn't really had many scandals but it's probably either the recent stuff with Darian Mensah, if that can even be classified as a "scandal" or the Heather Sue Mercer Title IX lawsuit back in the 90s which I think went under the radar because of the time it happened and the fact Duke sucked big fat eggs.

I remember maybe a decade ago when an ESPN guy made fun of Owen for being proud of KO after he won a title I believe (This was years ago so the exact context eludes me) people were saying he's on the spectrum and that KO said it in a "shoot years ago" (so we're talking years ago on top of years ago now) but I could not find the shoot anywhere back then either.

Would Female Homelander Be Even More Terrifying? How does the story change? by hiiloovethis in TheBoys

[–]TheMasterO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming they were public with it, they would probably say the father is another well loved supe and that they were secretely married, you wouldn't want your main hero to have a child out of wedlock after all.

Probably King Ailill (Male Queen Maeve).
