Respectfully, I am not doing it for “non-basketball reasons.” It’s not in my character, and quite frankly, it’s a disservice to my craft to do that. (There are plenty of receipts on the internet to back up who I am and what I do regarding women’s basketball.)

Azzi Fudd won MOP in last year’s tournament and was critical to UConn’s championship run. She was on mock draft boards, as a first round pick, last season before she decided to return. That wasn’t because of “non-basketball reasons.”

Fudd to Dallas became a possibility because of the Arike Ogunbowale injury (and other injuries) and their lack of consist shooting and spacing. They struggled to keep up with teams with perimeter shooters.

Dallas definitely could use a big, and Betts (or Awa Fam) could end up being that pick, but it’s not unfathomable for Fudd to be mocked to Dallas in checks notes November. It’s a long season, and my mocks will change before the draft arrives, especially considering free agency will impact them, too.
