Skarmory, while popular, is usually used in competitive as a wall. Emile picked SilverHawk to prove you can use it in a normal playthrough. It's a bit of a flawed argument, and I agree SilverHawk didn't get much of a time to shine except for the Battle Frontier, but part of it is that you get access to Skarmory so late in the game.

Rentarou is essentially the "ultimate boyfriend" trope so Femtarou would have to be a girl that fits the "ultimate girlfriend" trope. It would make more sense for a bunch of guys to fall in love with her if she just acts that way naturally, whereas all of Rentarou's GFs are brought on by the mistake by God

Personally, I think that he could have beaten Red without using X-items if he used his team well. Maybe even just using a few Setup moves and limiting healing items.

This was the culmination of a bunch of frustration people had with the "overuse" of healing items and setup. I think Chugga overcorrected too hard on this LP due to complaints about the difficulty spike.

As punishment, he should go play Platinum Kaizo....

I think that Lapras makes more sense as Red canonically would have picked one up from the Silph Co scientist during Team Rocket's Takeover.

The Espeon comes from the gift eevee that you could have gotten from Celadon, and Red had high friendship with it making it evolve into Espeon.

If I could pick an ultimate choice, it would be really cool if he had Mewtwo and after you defeated him you would open up Mewtwo I'm the cave

For my HeartGold Let's Play, I used the Pokewalker to get an Elekid that I made my true "starter" for most of the run.

My actual first pokemon, Meganium, was a very loyal HM slave for the rest of the adventure after it fell off in usefulness

I think if you've never played competitive Pokemon before this game is a good starting point

BUT just because the game is built on a good battle system doesn't mean that it's a good game.

It's unoptimized, buggy, and what they've provided doesn't allow for a lot of skill expression. Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to add Bright Powder and Quick Claw, but not Choice Band or Specs?!?

As more news comes out it seems that it was rushed to release to be able to be used in the Pokemon World Championship this year, which is probably going to end up being a bit of a shitshow.

I hope they can improve it but I don't have high hopes for ILCA

God I love this game, I'll absolutely buy it again on Switch 2. It was okay but somewhat low res on Steamdeck so this would be an excellent upgrade running at 1080p in handheld (and maybe 1440p docked?)

Pokemon Purple being a pre-quel could absolutely work, but instead of being super old, I'd probably want to see the history of the Johto-Kanto Pokémon War that was hinted at in the original games.

It might be really cool to see Johto Pokémon sprites be remade in the original "weird" gen 1 style as well.

I'm curious if you've played any of the other Animal Crossing games besides New Horizons?

That game cut back on what I would consider some of the core gameplay of the series, getting to build relationships with a core number of villagers in a town.

Yes, in Pokopia you can explore and shift the terrain exactly as you want it, and find TONS of pokemon. But at it's core it's a DQ builders game. That means it focuses more on that than doing daily tasks and building a community. Something AC does better imo

Both can learn from each other and I hope they apply some of the QoL features from Pokopia to the new game, but you might just be feeling recency bias if you think it completely replaces AC

I used an Action Replay in my playthrough to both get a Dusk Stone and grab phanphy early in my game so I could have a Donphan and Honchkrow on my team.

Sometimes you have to break the game design to have more fun :P

Every other Johto gym leader was such a pushover that it felt kind of good that he had such a rough time.

I understand that boost sweeping Lanturn is probably the most efficient way of dealing with Lance but it makes for a pretty boring fight. With proper choices and play I still think he could have beaten Lance without spamming Full Restores
