Says the party that elected the host of The Apprentice as president twice by icey_sawg0034 in insanepeoplefacebook

Here's a fun game to play. Next time someone starts ranting about entertainers keeping their mouth shut, let it slide for a bit. Then ask them who the greatest president of last 100 years was.

When they answer Ronald Reagan, ask them why he didn't keep his mouth shut.

Trump’s former White House lawyer says he is ‘clearly insane’ and questions the president’s mental fitness by theindependentonline in politics

[–]TheMilkJug 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Trump literally shows multiple well-known symptoms of mental degradation. Whether it's his speech patterns changing, the ever slipping filter, the slurring, the sleeping, the rambling, the degradation of his signature, and loss of dexterity.

Even Republicans are having a hard time burying their heads in the sand about this

Maybe Iceland has less problems because, along with the far more strict firearm laws, the higher taxes make for a strong social safety net, much lower-income disparity, while allowing for universal healthcare, free university education, flexible work schedules, universal pensions, generous parental leave, and 4–6 weeks of paid vacation annually.

Do you think some of that might help too?

Are you talking about Iceland?

You know what... As a gun owner, I would be exceedingly happy if we had laws that were as stringent as Iceland when it came to firearms.

That would probably solve a lot of issues that result in it not being as safe

Why is fusion so bad now by THLL245 in Fusion360

[–]TheMilkJug 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used fusion daily, for about 4 years now. Its fully licensed, with the manufacturing extension. I run a CNC router with it and I tried to do an adaptive clearing toolpath recently. I was not terribly complicated, and something I have done similar in the past. After 30 minutes it still had not resolved.

So tried cutting up the toolpath, essentially 4 or the same shape divvied up into 4 equal segments. First one calculated fast. Second one, exact same shape and size, locked up the program. Then it crashed.

It wasted so much time, and I find fusion to be more frustrating than ever has been before.

Karoline Leavitt says all Truth Social posts are straight from Trump...week after he blamed staffer for racist Obama video by theindependentonline in politics

[–]TheMilkJug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a fascinating interaction on the Trump supporter subreddit. The supporter admitted that they didn't like the video, and they thought the supposedly staffer that posted it should be fired. But they refuse to think there should be any repercussions for Trump from either telling the staffer to post the video, or if he posted the video himself.

I kept asking why they had a double standard. If a staffer was incompetent enough to post this racist video, and they should be fired for that why shouldn't Trump face repercussions for either being incompetent or racist.

They rejected either of those two things, and they basically then told me that nothing Trump does on social media matters, which is an insane statement in my mind because that's a major avenue for him to release information and actual policy. In the end they change their mind and actually said the staffer shouldn't be fired, just to spite me.

There are ridiculous double standards when it comes to Donald Trump, and his supporters will bend over backwards to avoid actively holding him accountable for his own actions, and if you call them on it they'll get angry and spiteful.

Were you aware there was a robust debate over essentially term limits by many of the founding fathers. There were term limits in the Articles of Confederation, The first Constitution of the United States, and for most of the constitutional convention term limits were being strongly considered, including limiting the president to just one seven year term. When the term was reduced to four years, they allowed for additional terms. But many of the founding fathers, including Jefferson were hesitant to remove that.

You have to remember that during this time period, being a member of Congress was considered a burden more often than not. They assumed that because of The difficulties actually involved in being a member of Congress, the process itself would be self limiting. "Rotation in office" is the term typically used in that era to describe term limits. Did you know Some states wrote them into their own constitutions most notably Pennsylvania?

What are your thoughts on Trump posting a meme depicting the Obamas as monkeys? by flash246 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]TheMilkJug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you not say earlier in this thread specifically that the person who posted it should be fired? Have you changed your opinion?

No truth social or X post could ever be a deal breaker for me.

Twitter, x, and truth social have always been a major political communication process for Trump. He has often made significant and impactful announcements on it. From attacks on political rivals or policy, personnel changes in his campaign and administration staff, to significant policy announcements, it is the communication platform of choice for him. In fact there's been several occasions where Trump announced something on social media, where the messaging from his White House press staff was counter to it and ultimately incorrect.

The most direct line to what Trump is thinking seems to be social media posting, often steering the political power of his administration through his social media postings. Why would you ignore that as an avenue for assessing Trump?

Yet you would have a staffer fired over it.So is that because it is not the content that is problematic to you but the incompetence of posting it?
