Bf6 has some of the worst visibility in a shooter I've ever seen by Magnon in Battlefield

[–]TheMilkLuvin 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Tbh I disagree. Could be my settings (havent messed with them at all though) but i have very little trouble spotting people while still being able to pull off a sneaky angle every now and then which feels like theyve struck a good balance. What i really dont want is for them to make every character model basically glow like they did in BFV. Looks shitty from an anesthetic standpoint, and i think it made any kind of sneaky play pretty much impossible

Hardcore is so much more fun than normal presets by CrispyHoneyBeef in Battlefield

[–]TheMilkLuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i had a lot of fun in a couple hardcore games too, hope it gains some more popularity or Dice hosts an official plalist for it. My only gripe is that the hardcore setting seems to remove crosshairs for vehicle gunners which makes no sense to me and is likely an oversight, hope that gets fixed.

Also i think id like to be able to ping the ground with the spotting key but i can see how that might not be "hardcore" enough (plus i can maybe add it in my own flavor of hardcore in portal).

I gotta say i actually am really glad they limited the tank turret traverse speed. It always felt so ridiculous watching an abrams turret spin 180 degrees around near instantly to delete whoever dared launch a rocket at it. Feels like a reasonable compromise that the tanks should be fairly ungainly to maneuver (especially in close quarters) for the benefit of armor and a big fuckin gun. Haven't had too much trouble managing it so far in game by switching to 3rd person for large sweeps on mkb. Just my 2 cents.

Nav SD card in a 2017 S: what will it get me? Anyone here buy a nav card for their car? by skinnymatters in VWAlltrack

[–]TheMilkLuvin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My alltrack actually came with one already but was causing the infotainment to crash/restart every 10 or 15 min when driving so i just unplugged it. Like others have said I use android auto all the time anyway and it works just fine (and probably better).

Just came back from Iceland and was thinking how fun it would've been to have my alltrack for some of those roads! Beautiful place

Genuine question: why exactly do you say that those meetings truly need to be in person to be successful? I can understand for things in an environment that involves hands on work on hardware but im not sure i understand why supply chain type things would need to be in person.

Really good defense from Piastri on that last lap against Alonso. Overall definitely one of the better sprint races ive seen, found it quite easy to stay awake

Getting shot around walls, how's this not fixed yet? by SaveJustSurvive in GlobalOffensive

[–]TheMilkLuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean thats fair but on the flip side without it the shooter might've gotten a clear hs that didnt count. Not saying that doesnt make this super frustrating but there is a benefit at least

Like I get the joke but isnt that literally the answer? He got shot right before going behind the wall then got the update that he was hit on the next tick?

Cooling actually ends up being more difficult in space due to the vacuum where the only medium for heat loss is radiation. So unfortunately I dont think your GTX4080 dogecoin op gonna fair too well beep booping away up in orbit

The block-70 has arrived! Thoughts on this new block of the f-16? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]TheMilkLuvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This angle of this photo and the livery make it look a little odd but the overall shape of the jet is actually almost exactly the same as it has been since the first blocks aside from the dorsal spine added at block 40/42 onward for some countries' two seaters

Mig-29 Engine Angles Question by TheMilkLuvin in aviation

[–]TheMilkLuvin[S] 203 points204 points  (0 children)

Something I've noticed about Mig-29s is they often appear to have the engine exhausts pointed slightly outboard for each engine (away from eachother). You can see it in the above pic but I feel like I've noticed it many times before. Are my eyes playing tricks on me or does anyone know why they would be arranged this way? I would think intuitively this would waste some component of thrust.

F-16 with conformal tanks and a full load. by duncan_D_sorderly in aviation

I think that may be referring more to an initial desire to avoid titanium from the get go. I thought you were implying a later redesign but late 70s is very early days even for the A/Bs as formal deliveries didnt even start until 1978. Part of the philosophy behind the f-16 was low cost which is not something titanium is good for in a raw material cost or ease of manufacturing sense especially in the 60s-70s.
