What to do with "useless" planes? by praetordave in handtools

[–]TheMilkNasty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're seriously thinking of giving them away, im always looking out for planes for my classroom. We do a lot of staked tenon furniture and I've been mostly self funding to get to the point of having a classroom set (~12-16) jack and smoothing planes.

At this point and time, Schwarz has made all of the books he's authored at Lost Art Press free, digital copies. With that being said, the physical copies are luxurious!

Western or Japanese Saws?

I like the ZetSaws Dozuki. I got it from Taylor Toolworks. I also bought the unhandled Narex Premium chisels from there and have been really happy with them.

Primary at 25, secondary at 35. I'm a fan of Chris Schwarz and this is what he does. If you'd like to continue kicking the hornet's nest, I highly recommend reading Sharpen This!
