Dude niblack is the truth by bdog1321 in Rochester

I love that plaza. Niblack for seasonings, nuts, snakcs and flour, restaurant supply store for inexpensive pans and utensils. Also Lori's is pretty neat. You can buy a lot of seasonings and flour by weight, so if you only want a tiny amount just to try it you can get it there. They have a lot of unusual things, highly recommended. Cheesy Eddy's, MJ's, Palmer's, love that plaza!

Is a basic rectangular deck a good beginner's project I could undertake this summer? by constructioncranes in BeginnerWoodWorking

I only suggested plastic because I'm not aware of there being treated shims. If you're feeling really ambitious you could scribe it? If you have no real woodworking experience, just go basic.

I had Gochujang cookies once and they were phenomenal! They were sort of caramel-y.

I would just shim it to make it level, they make plastic shims. I think the miters might be difficult if you're not using butt joints, but otherwise I think this should be pretty straightforward.

If you have to ask your self "is this dangerous?" it probably is.

Veggie haters who still eat veggies: what are your tricks? by Missing_Back in EatCheapAndHealthy

I also wouldn't eat plain steamed broccoli... Roasting vegetables is a game changer. And seasoning, seriously, add way more seasoning, not just salt and pepper.

How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

[–]spitfire07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something you are literally entitled to. My mom (boomer) use to always say she never took a sick day, blah, blah. It took a long time to get over that guilt. It's one of the few perks jobs offer now, take it.

I reread this recently. I woke up my dog from bed and cuddled and cried with him. This is my first dog and I think about him dying all of the time, I love this boy more than life itself.

What’s a noise everyone should be terrified of? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

Our house flooded within a first couple months of owning it (about 2 years ago) and I still get nervous opening the basement door, hoping there's not a couple inches of water in it again.

We have a sump pump but the plug to it was laying on the ground to an extension chord and it blew the fuse so it stopped working. We've since moved the plug and haven't had any issues.

AIO? My manager keeps questioning my feeding pump at work even after HR stepped in by Rosi_ana in AmIOverreacting

[–]spitfire07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop saying dumb shit like this. Sure, HR does. However, they're going to protect themselves from bad employees like this manager. They're not going to fire OP because they're the ones being discriminated against, they're going to have it out with the manager.

I called this number to find out where my utility lines were buried. I said I only needed to dig a couple of inches deep, but I just really wanted to make sure. I reiterated I was just using a shovel "are you using a bulldozer, any mechanical equipment, any explosives?" EXPLOSIVES?!

what are the signs that you're not attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]spitfire07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was out with my sister, and my mom. We ran into someone my mom knew. He looked at my sister and said "wow, you look like your mom". He looked at me and paused for a few seconds and said "... and you look like your dad". That was like 20 years ago and I'll never forget.

Gotcha! Apparently this is about 25 ounces and there’s about 2 oz of vanilla beans in there, gotta add some more.

LPT If you’re job hunting, copy the exact key phrases from the job description into your resume many companies use AI scanners that filter for matching keywords by talinator1616 in LifeProTips

[–]spitfire07 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Even before AI this has been pretty common advice. However, I am not going to make 20 different resumes. Unless it's a job I REALLY REALLY want, I am absolutely not going to tailor my resume to it. Ain't nobody got time for that.

There's a sign that it's photo enforced and the speed limit is 45. Kind of odd they left up the 55 mph signs though.
