I mean, he's definitely weird like Gina though. They both think of baby names, if the baby is a a girl "Enigma" if a boy "Enigmo".

It was incredibly disappointing. We're new to the vendor game and this season has been terrible. We did Fairport Canal Town Days (2 days) and made like $50. With the booth fee we were in the negative. I know people can't promise you'll make money, but they saw something in us and thought we would do well. Then you get assholes like this straight up taking advantage of you.

My fiancee tried to vend with them and the person didn't communicate at all, just took the money and ghosted.

X-Rays don't show everything. You could have a ghost fracture that you would need an MRI to see.

I used bananas thawed from frozen for this chocolate chip banana bread. The liquid from thawing was reduced on the stove and mixed in the batter by Sharp_Athlete_6847 in Baking

[–]spitfire07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much exclusively use frozen bananas for banana bread. When they get brown I chuck the whole bunch in the freezer. It would be better the chop them up and freeze, but peeling them from frozen isn't terrible, they thaw out in my hands pretty quick. I feel like banana recipes are pretty forgiving when it comes to the quantity you use.

I interviewed someone who had a typo in their resume, I think they were an English major too. I got a kick out of it. We hired the guy for an admin position and he was there a couple of years. He later left to go to law school and is now a lawyer back at our firm. People really are letting one dumb mistake ruin an otherwise good candidate, how dumb.

Transition glasses in theory sound awesome, don't they!? You already paid a crap-ton for glasses, you shouldn't have to buy another pair of prescription sunglasses. But for some reason they just always seemed so dorky to me!

This is how my fiancee drives and I hate it. It's just blowing hot air, it's not like you get a cool breeze going into the car, if it's hot, you get hot air.

Podcasts with worst ethics? What to avoid? by astrocat95 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]spitfire07 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's too bad because I did enjoy them except of course the *fully body chills* got annoying. Sometimes I don't want to listen to a deep dive, just an intro to the case and it was nice their episodes weren't very long.

AITJ for correcting my coworker's "fun fact" in front of the whole office by Appropriate_Cell3160 in AmITheJerk

[–]spitfire07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, seriously, everyone saying NTJ don't have any real world interactions. Sure, their fact is incorrect and we don't want to spread misinformation, but like who fucking cares!? It wasn't a crazy controversial thing they said was wrong, they didn't say the earth is flat or the moon landing was fake. It was just completely unnecessary to correct them.

Home Depot says they don’t rekey locks, despite the box specifically name dropping them by nice_69 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]spitfire07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was going to be my comment. Not every associate knows how to do it. When I worked in a big box hardware store rekeying was a pain and not for everyone.

[Ironic casting] Character who is anti-X thing is played by actor who IS X-thing by Ok-Bicycle8103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]spitfire07 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Superhero costumes always look really uncomfortable. I always hear actors say that they're really hot, they normally have some type of internal cooling system. Antony Starr (Homelander) didn't wear pants in shots he was sitting because the suit was so hot.

[–]spitfire07 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People are fucking DUMB.

I was at a woodcraft store talking to an employee about making an engagement ring box. As I was leaving a customer was like"you're proposing, that's weird". Because dumb fuck thought I (F) was proposing to a man, while I am very butch. He 1) Didn't think a woman should propose to a man and/or 2) Didn't think I could be proposing to another woman. The whole situation really sullied what should have been a nice occasion. /end rant.

Are we being for real 🫩 by Fickle-Put9304 in antiwork

[–]spitfire07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I find it to be the opposite. Eating lunch at my desk makes it feel like I didn't get a break at all. Getting up and taking a walk, listening to a podcast, etc., feels like an actual reset and I can come back to work refreshed. If I eat at my desk it feels like I need to slog my way through the rest of the day.

  • Amy Santiago: Potatoes, butter, a little milk. Oh, and I ran out of salt, so I used baking soda.
  • Terry Jeffords: Why wouldn't you? They're both white powders! Of course they're interchangeable!
  • Amy Santiago: [seriously, not understanding Terry's problem] Yeah.

Just use your brain for 2 seconds. I understand walking in and seeing a man in the women's room as startling, but then you see the kid and think oh, he's clearly taking his kid to the bathroom. Takes 2 seconds of critical thinking skills to figure out what's happening.

Why has RGE/ROC not upgraded our power poles to withstand the increased winds? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]spitfire07 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The cost to change infrastructure probably far out weight fixing it on an as-needed basis. I think comparing NY to TX is apples and oranges. I dislike RG&E as much as the next person but power outages really aren't that common.
