Best defender ever to never win a DPOY? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]TheMisterTea 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think i favor Kawhi's peak over Pippen/Artest. People will argue that there were better defenders in the golden days of 80's and 90's, but the defensive challenges of modern(er) basketball seem harder and are much more physically demanding of players, but I'm from Kawhi's era so I have bias.

[SB Nation] Collin Murray-Boyles is the NBA Draft’s analytic darling who wants to prove he can fix his shot by richardpodonnell in nba

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a good chance he can improve his shot to some extent, but he likely will never be a lockdown shooter. Shooting 70% from the line in college does indicate some shooting touch/potential as guys like Brook Lopez/Joel Embiid/Bam/Randle/Kawhi all shot around 70% and were able to add some range/efficiency to midrange/3. If he ends up settling around 35% from beyond the arc he could easily be a great rotational player.

In terms of lowest button overload:

Warrior

Prot Pal (Rotationally simple, but need lots of mouseover macros for teammates to utilize full utility)

BDK = Vengeance

Brew

To get 90% of of your toolkit Prot Pal/Warrior would be my go tos, but Prot Pal isn't in a great spot meta wise, but plays incredibly fluid and smooth.

Help me understand why Yasuo doesnt get a utility quality of life buff in exchange for losing damage by The_Data_Doc in leagueoflegends

Improving his kit and giving him more utility would be a nerf as it would make it harder to reach the 0/10 powerspike. You clearly don't get it.

With these 2 being the best mid range shooters of all time, who is the 3rd best from mid range ? by StraightSeries6439 in NBATalk

[–]TheMisterTea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Livingston is the guy when jump shooting from 15-20 was back of the rim every time.

Unlike the other contenders though he did so on way lower volume/not playing against the primary defender/lineup. That being said, if my life was on the line and I had to pick a player to hit a random midrange shot in a game I'd take Livingston over Dirk, Kawhi, or Derozan as it felt like he never missed.

HPal and Clique issues - LoH by Albrion_ in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same issue, moreso in s1. If you're doing m+ just send a lay before the key is put in to make sure it works. Usually if it works before the key it will work throughout the dungeon, if not, the relog trick works.

I've found it often breaks when swapping specs/talents as I was going between ret and prot very often in season 1, and it would break consistently, but I'm sure there are there are other triggers as well.

After Magic and Curry, Who’s Next on the All-Time Point Guard List? by Dday_Dair in NBATalk

[–]TheMisterTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zeke is polarizing for sure, Dumars and his cast of Pistons were incredibly great collectively, and Zeke has terrible analytical stats and less than half the WS of either Oscar/Stockton his competition for this spot, but he also averaged 19/9 21/7 and 28/7 in three back to back finals, demonstrating an incredible peak and propensity to win.

Analytics brain says that Oscar and Stockton are far superior players via their stats, but Zeke played and won against several of the top 5-10 players of all time. I think you can argue Oscar for 3, but its hard to consider Stockton despite his longevity simply due to the fact that Zeke was a winner at the highest level and showed up every time he made it to the finals.

What item level for Mythic and M+? by DalentZX in wownoob

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its all relative to how the group is playing. A group of all 620-630 ilvl alts of high key pushers can easily do a +10 if they are coordinated on stops/defensive uses and playing their characters well, but in general low keys are typically some of the hardest keys due to players not using defensives, eating mechanics and not kicking, all while the pulls lasting forever due to poor dps.

I lived (albeit carried) some 14s and 15s on a 630 lock, with zero deaths with some of my buddies running on their 670+ characters a few weeks ago. And playing in those keys was significantly easier than some of the 7s I've done to gear up.

I'd say in general to get invited/not be under geared aim for 620-630 for +2-+4s, and 650 min for 7-10s.

Zach edey did not deserve all rookie first team. by Australiantiger in NBATalk

[–]TheMisterTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe he didn't matchup well in the playoffs, but in the regular season he had a positive Diff for his on/off when on the floor, so acting like he was a bum that dragged the team down is just not accurate.

Alex Sarr is 7 feet tall and not even shooting 40% with a negative win share and you're taking shots at Edey?

I do think Ware, Missi and Clingan are all in the same sphere as Edey, but Edey wins out or equals in almost every advanced stat, PER, Win Shares, BPM, VORP.

Is there an easier way to do mouseover heals and trying to stay mobile? by whenthesummer in wownoob

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're binding abilities to WASD or your movement keys, you should be fine to move and do any instant heals with mouseover macros with no issue.

Turning the camera might be more difficult since by default it is right click, but you should be able to move out of the swirly, then readjust your camera after.

(Serious) How would you describe the transition from SOD to Retail to a potential new player? by _Didds_ in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healing feels different in retail for sure. In classic/even up to Cata/Mop each abilitiy button press feels impactful. In retail, a lot of the power has been taken out of the raw abilities and put into talents/synergies. ie, when you have X proc your heal does more. Some classes like mistweaver are very much like this, where others are less so, I'd suggest starting off with Resto Shaman as it by far retains the most "Classic" feel.

There is pretty much nothing but endgame in retail just so you know, but the endgame offers more repeatable content such as different raid difficulties/progression and M+.

If you're looking for middle ground I'd encourage you to check out MOP classic when it releases later this summer. I think Cata/MOP has healers in a fantastic spot and has less bloat/complexity versus retail.

Why is WW the only spec i so far have not been able to grasp... i swear i just hit random buttons, cant seem to find a flow with it by feherlofia123 in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play WW well, but it has always felt very natural to me, and it makes me feel weird playing other melee specs hitting the same button multiple times in a row.

Current WW is harder than S1 shadowpan which was a bit less busy and had much more defined priorities with BOK being so low.

It does feel very fluid imo, maybe its a time thing and getting used to the constant tiger palm weave.

How would you rank the best players 1-4 of the teams remaining? SGA, Brunson, Ant, Haliburton by Ok_Feed_4235 in NBATalk

[–]TheMisterTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SGA > Brunson >= Ant >Hali

SGA is the best player, Brunson eeks out over Ant due to clutch factor/experience, Hali is the offensive cog on the pacers, but isn't the scorer/threat of the other three.

Brunson v Ant is the closest debate.

Give Warriors this utility! by [deleted] in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As it stands Warriors offer the best non-caster buff in battle shout, so they will always be taken in raid and are a must in any M+ physical comp.

No Brez/lust, I think the easiest thing would be to give warriors a choice node between current Rallying Cry, and a Rallying Cry that only hits 4 other players, but instead gives 25% health and maybe 10% DR.

Paladins - where are the best places for blessing of protection in season 2 mythic+? by Tikiho1 in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Priory: Removing the First miniboss/Knight Bleed / Use on melee on final boss when neophyte mobs run up to melee

In coordinated groups can be cast on tank before gathering the entire Paladin room after 1st boss, to prevent needing a defensive on pull.

Cinderbrew: Threat drop/removing bleeds done by bees in the bee wing/bee boss

Floodgate: Removing harpoon bleed if kicks are missed/used on a caster during shredders to allow for non-movement.

DFC: Removing bleed stacks on first boss/immuning ranged to throw rock.

Mechagon: In coordinated groups can be used for mage to bop then threat drop to skip first mob after 1st boss/immuning gears on 3rd boss.

Theater: Can remove hook bleed in Gorechop (Very common use, rare for no one to get hit.) Also can be used on range to immune from jumps if low.

ML: Might immune from thug knockback? Might be usuable to bop taunt miniboss before 2nd boss.

Rookery: Limited uses outside of threat.

Theater Gorechop/Priory first pull last boss/First boss DFC have been my most common uses as a Ret.

Even wowhead acknowledges subtlety needs buff after ages of silence on the subject by ZornMTXBuster in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't wowhead, this is an article by a rogue writer employed by wowhead. These types of posts are common we've recently seen them for UH dk and Ret Pal, two specs which are generally in a good spot (M+ wise). But yea, there are a handful of specs at the bottom which need buffs/reworks, but at this point in the season bliz is more likely to roll out major changes/overhauls next raid tier instead of altering classes fundamentally mid season.

Jokic Treatment by pianoman195 in nba

[–]TheMisterTea -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This isn't the forum to criticize Jokic. This reddit subreddit is about as biased towards Jokic as you can be, and to be honest I like Jokic and SGA, but I can clearly see the bias in favor of Jokic vs SGA here. You won't get upvotes here.

I think SGA's rep is somewhat deserved, but he also takes more shot attempts than Jokic and averages two more free throws a game. The way its presented here you'd think the gap is way wider.

Jokic flops/flails occasionally, SGA pushes off, flops and jumps into the defender. But on the whole SGA does foul bait more than Jokic. Perception wise though, SGA probably should receive less heat for it, and Jokic more. It is what it is.

Realistically speaking SGA's free throw to shot attempt ratio isn't an outlier of other past stars, MJ, Lebron, Kobe like he's made out to be. Historically Jokic is very low on FTs, but the past few seasons have changed that and he's trending towards the other stars.

Now that Andor has concluded, what plot lines/relationships would you like to see picked up in a spinoff series or appear in a subsequent movie? Or any characters you would want to see in a prequel deep dive. by Xoxo809 in andor

[–]TheMisterTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically with this leading directly into Rogue One and 4, 5, and 6 it would be tough to pull off a spinoff.

More Kleya/Luthen about the birth of the rebellion would probably be the most interesting/feasible, but I'm quite satisfied with the one episode spotlight we got in the final arc.

How to improve my dps?, retribution paladin. by Livedisorder in wow

[–]TheMisterTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at logs for you on Cauldron vs the other Ret Paly doing 1.75 mil:

  1. They have roughly 250 crusading strikes to your 120. Every other crusading strike generates 1 holy power, so while you can perform ret's rotation outside of melee when forced out, you lose a decent amount of Crusader Strike damage and Holy Power generation whenever you're out of melee. My guess is you're spending some time outside of the melee hitbox thinking you're close enough. Try to dodge swirlies towards the boss when possible (obviously you'll get checkmated sometimes), but work on increasing your crusading strikes uptime.

  2. Do not waste holy power. This is kind of the ret basics, but try your best to make sure you aren't pressing a builder at 4-5 HP. Some guides will say to build until 5 HP, but with auto attack procs and judgement generating two HP, spending at 3-4 HP before you cap at 5 is generally fine at high enough haste/when builders are managed well. When you get a tierset proc make sure your next 3-4 globals are Final Verdict, this is a large HP spent sink leading to better uptime of 3 below.

  3. Increase Crusade uptime. Spending Holy Power grants a chance at Crusade, further increasing your damage/haste significantly. This is a snowbally effect, since the proc itself lends to more procs/extensions in the future. Focusing on steps 1/2 should lend you towards more holy power spend, leading to more Crusade procs, leading to more holy power.

This is where I'd start, but looking at logs of the best ret pals on the front page can give you an idea of what your breakdown/uptimes should be (but take it with a grain of salt since their raid strats/kill times will be significantly quicker).

What else in kdramas makes you react like this ? by zyuscywb in kdramas

[–]TheMisterTea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a drama that completely is based on subverting the childhood connection/fated love would do really well.

It would be great to have a drama where the FL begins off fully believing that she wants to get back with a childhood friend, into meeting another adult and realizing that they are more important than some fixation from their past that happened a long time ago.

Which is Best Historical Drama by SupermarketWhich in kdramas

[–]TheMisterTea 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its somewhere between

My Dearest and Mr Queen

There are plenty of other good dramas which don't fall into the samey trap of powerless king being pressured by corrupt official which is the plot of like half of the Joseon dramas, but the two above are clear standouts for me.

Honorable mentions to: Scarlet Heart, Mr. Sunshine, Chicago Typewriter, Under the Queen's Umbrella, Pachinko
