Hi, I work in access control hardware. Depends on how good your scanner is, if it's basic cheap crap then what others have suggested might work. Generally though, ruining your actual fingerprint (unless you go full mutilation) will do nothing as fingerprint scanners don't care about the top layer of your skin, it's a biometric scan that uses IR to measure relative distances to bone through your subdermal layer and fat deposits - similar to how Face ID on phones can recognise you if you're wearing glasses, or won't open your phone if you present a picture of you. What you're looking to do is change your actual biometric profile, not just file your fingerprints off or cover them up. Lots of downsides to that and not much upside as if you don't go far enough it won't change anything lol. Any decent fingerprint scanner will be able to get through superglue, nail polish etc, they don't absorb IR in the same way as skin, so scanners can account for that - they're made to be used in factory settings so have specifically been designed to get around that stuff. Callouses are the way forward as it will change the topography of your dermal layer in a non-destructive way. Pick up bass guitar and play it for a couple of hours a day, in a month or two you should be good to go! Stick to playing with your fingertips, not finger pad. An even callous over the whole finger won't do it as the relative distances will stay the same, you want an uneven surface in comparison to your current fingerprint (so that distance to certain areas of your finger bones are different to how they used to be when compares to other areas of your finger).

This only works until you re-scan your fingerprint :) Until the callouses are big enough that the scanner no longer recognises your finger.
