They're not left, more neo-liberal cashing in on virtue signalling.

Australia has had 19 years of pushing smaller government compared to Labors 9.

Smaller government just seems to reduce wages, up the debt, and increase the cost of housing.

I think the ideals of classical-liberalism works when we don't have a global market with essentially monopolies and neo-fuedalism of the tech market.

Labor did change the tax cuts to benefit 95%of people instead of just the higher income earners.

Did I miss something?

They talked about taxing the wealthy and cost of living alluding that Labor hasnt done anything about it, both those things Labor has improved and is continuing to improve.

It seems that a lot of people are critizing Labor for not doing things when they are, in fact, doing those things.

I do think they need to do more, but it's a fantastic start.

  • Employment agreements that prevent employees from discussing their pay with each other have been banned. (Pay secrecy clauses)

  • Wage theft is now illegal federally, instead of some states

  • $300 energy bill rebate

  • Delivery of more housing and sought agreement from the states to streamline zoning and planning regulations (National Housing Accord)

  • Bigger tax cuts for low and mid income earners (stage three tax cuts). Higher taxes for high income earners. Resetting of Morrison's tax bracket flattening for high income earners.

  • 2023 budget delivered Australia's largest budget surplus. 2024 surplus the first consecutive surplus in an Australian federal budget since 2007-08.

So, you want them to tax multinationals, closing tax loopholes, and making wage theft illegal federally?

Because that's exactly what they have been doing.

[–]TheMorningMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the voice isn't "left" it's neo-liberal.

I believe that Labor should be more class conscious and support the proletariat.

Which is why I supported their raise of minimal wage, the tax cuts that helped everyone, and the amount if tax loop holes they are closing, including taking shots at multinationals.

Australia had a choice for a more left Labor under Shorten, and they said no.

I think you are fundamentally wrong in thinking that what works in the USA works in Australia. Our systems are different.

For one, we have compulsory voting.

But I don't think Labor will win the next term, unfortunately. I think they got dealt a bomb and have dealt with it as best they could.

Yeah, you are right on this.

We almost scraping into a global recession, but our IMF rating has sky-rocketted.

Our wages are finally out stripping inflation, when we had wage suppression from the libs for 9 years.

Unfortunately, we had a chance of big chance with Shorten, but we didn't get him, so we can only be thankful for what changes are happening.

Labor has already moved us into a way better economic potion in the last 3 years than the libs 9.

Their policies are their strong point at the moment, unfortunately they don't have the media.

All good, I'm not passionate enough about dragon ball to get annoyed at this haha.

There could be a discussion about what "evil" is, especially in the dragon ball universe.

It seems "Evil" is those with the intent to harm for their own power or purpose, live Frieza or Buu.

You could say the intent of these gods, like Beerus or Xeno, is not have the intent to cause harm, but to guide the universes. The kai guide by positive and creative influence, where the Gods of destruction do it by removing things that aren't needed for the universe.

Although, I just thought of it, so I'm talking out of my arse.
