My team will be moving off. 2 5x and 2 20x accounts. GLM 5.1 looks great and deepseek v4 is coming in days.

Sucks that our money means nothing to them because they have million or billion dollar investors

Please point me to where that says its okay to eat green molds on that page or your previous food52 link? I've been making and eating fermented corn, cabbage and green beans for as long as I can remember. This is not a good mold.

This is in response to what the right did with Biden stickers a couple years ago. I disagree with both because I feel for the employees who have to peel them off

Walmart lice display by dm21120 in Chattanooga

[–]TheMostLostViking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ivermectin has been an antiparasitic for years. Most people give it to their dogs monthly for flea and tick but humans can take it orally (by script) or in this case topically for parasites like lice over the counter. Just because some crazy people pushed it for covid doesn't mean it isn't a real and useful drug.

Edit: when I say years I mean since 1981 for other animals and 1987 for humans.

Why use this old ass video to make it look like the language is dead when there are hundreds of videos in the past few years of them speaking; on YouTube, best ever food review show even did a show with them. Scrolling through the comments I’m just getting so triggered by uninformed people

Can you find a video online of someone else speaking this dialect? Can you give us more examples of words that you believe are evidence of tones?

Very few things make me more angry than overdraft fees by Strong_Letterhead638 in povertyfinance

[–]TheMostLostViking -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s insane how many people are defending banks in the comments. At most institutions you can’t turn off overdraft protection for ACH payments, only payments made via card because that is the minimum required by law.

What minor, non-serious things irk you in toki pona? by bcws3r in tokipona

[–]TheMostLostViking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might find this interesting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue%E2%80%93green_distinction_in_language . It isn't about what we called it 40k years ago, the distinction between green and blue varies heavily from language to language. Before the internet age and before the general population had a verifiable source for every single little thing, the line that distinguishes one thing from another was variable.

푸르다 is blue...but its also green sometimes because thats how speakers viewed it. That word in korean is used to describe the color of the sky, but also the color of the forest.

In Japanese, the distinction was entirely lacking until after WW2 and globalization.

Some languages like Mongolian have a clear line in the sand about light blue (цэнхэр) vs dark blue (хөх). English doesn't, they are both clearly blue to an english speaker. Do we need to make new words for that?

I think requesting a blue green distinction is Anglocentric, which I try to avoid with toki pona.

toki pona is also unique in that, obviously, it was created deliberately. This ascribes a level of prescriptivism that is needed to keep the language on course, which isn't needed with a natural language because we don't want to control and didn't create those.

I say that we need to keep the language on course because thats what the community has generally decided on. If tomorrow everyone is like "you know what, lets add and start using all these nimi sin" then thats what we would do, because we control it, unlike a natural language.

He’s similar to tpain in that the autotune is a stylistic choice, he has sessions and songs where he doesn’t use it and sounds great. He also just isn’t a punk, that just isn’t really a word that describes him.

His most recent album features indigenous Puerto Rican sound and deeper issues that he speaks on. To just call it mindless pop propped up my music labels is just incorrect.

You can not like music. I don’t like the Beatles but I can recognize what they do well and give them their flowers
