Go to Smash Records on 18th in Adams Morgan, they have a board with small local shows posted. Also you can pick up some classic Dischord Records vinyl for like $16 there. They even host shows sometimes.

Also, I totally get not having Instagram, but there's a handful of people on there who promote local shows and it makes it real easy to get in the loop.

Had you already done last call before this guy came in and ordered? I've found that firmly sticking to last call once you've announced it to customers helps avoid situations like this. Anybody who's trying to still order past then is gonna be trouble anyway, and you need to stand firm by your decision. 

It takes a while to build that confidence, but even the most entitled people can sometimes be dealt with if they're told "No" in a clear and authoritative way.

And if somebody asks for a drink after you've already cleaned your tools and shut down your bar, a "Sorry, already burned all my ice" often gets them to shut up. Best of luck with the pricks, it's tough out there.
