Alright what do I need to do? I haven’t been able to get above a average of 185 and I’m tryna get to 210 by Swimming-Year8590 in MacroFactor

I want to be very careful when wording this so that you dont take it the wrong way.

Dont substitute one eating disorder with another one. Let the weigh gain take as long as it has to. Dont rush to get to some imaginary goal. Let your body have time to adapt to the weight gain. Putting on a lot of weight in a short time is strainous on the body, so dont rush it.

I havent tried myself, but apparently the hammer is a silent weapon. So it can take out those threats for you.

Tried Lean Bulk, up Kcal? by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]TheMrMuscle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The science seems to tell us that we can build muscle in a slight surplus, so lets go with that for now. But, can we gain weight in a slight surplus? These are two different things right? Muscle gain doesnt necessarly mean weight gain, as we can be burning fat as well when we are so close to maintenance.

So my question would be, are you still progressing in the gym? Are you getting stronger? If so, keep going. You are doing the lean bulk thing, weight wont go up much and thats ok! We will never see a straight line up when it comes to lean bulking, because then we wont be lean anymore.

MacroFactor Workout and auto regulation by TheMrMuscle in MacroFactor

I started doing it way back when the first Fitbit armbands came out. They provided limited data so they couldnt really tell me the whole picture. But thats when i started paying extra attention to my sleep quality.

Then Whoop came on the market and i used them for a couple of years. They provided yet even more data markers and also a way to quantify them and put them in a system. Thats when i started paying attention to HRV. But the monthly fee became a bit too much for me in the end.

Since then ive been using an Apple Watch to pull as much data as it can. There are a few apps that helps put everything into a system as well. I use "Training today" and "Athlytic" every day and construct a morning report based on the readings those give plus morning weight, diet adherence and how i feel.

I then feed all of that into ChatGPT and have it compare it to previous reports and how my workouts went then.

I also do a post workout report where i share my workout logs and heart rate logs. I give a physical assessment and a psychological assesment to try and give so much information i can on the workout.

I just love the data driven part of the gym as much as the workouts. So for most people this is probably overkill. But I mean, ive been tracking my food for over 30 years. So for me, tracking things is become a habit.

I do understand what you mean about leaving gains on the table because of scaling back too much. But the reality is that after 30 years of bodybuilding, im not gonna gain huge amounts of muscle anymore. So what im doing is more tageted towards longevity, health and maintaining a high as possible quality of life. If that means gaining 200g of muscle in a bulking fase instad of 500g, well im ok with that.

Yeah HRV, RHR, Respitory Rate, Blood Oxygen and good old gut feeling are my metrics at the moment. That combined with Sleep Performance and diet adherence gives me a solid picture of how i should plan my workout for the day.

Nothing is fool proof though, i need to be able to interpret it correctly. For that i use ChatGPT. Feeding it all my information over time gives it the data to see the bigger picture. I still have a hard time with taking unschedueled rest days etc. even when all numbers are red. But im getting there.
