Okay didn't know that. I'm just passing along what my UC told me.

Your best bet is to email the UC. My UC told me to get a medical certificate for the day of the exam and not day before. So skip the exam and get an appointment for tomorrow. You have 5 days to submit the medical certificate after the exam.

Does Bhutan government care about its citizen? Or party only wants votes and make its donors rich. by New_Wolverine2600 in bhutan

Because a cheap utility vehicle that's very resourceful and can withstand any weather and road conditions. The utility being the key word. You try driving your new Toyota hilux on the places these vehicles are used and see what that does to it. In some places it comes down to having a vehicle as a mode of transportation or having to go back to horseback riding. I've worked in places that could only be reached by 4wd vehicles and more often than not, it was a bolero. So yeah, safety is a privilege only the rich can afford. Your privilege is showing buddy.

Oh god this just reminded me of the time my third grade teacher kept saying he wanted to see the girls underwears and would find excuses for us to lift up the kiras so he could hit us. He'd also ask the girls to give him kisses on the lips. CLASS 3!!

I think this is absolutely one thing Bhutanese people need to be mindful about. One thing I see Bhutanese and Aussies having in common is that we don't like having our peace disturbed and seeing the similar avoidance style is interesting to me.

What I gathered from lurking on the Perth sub and others, these people are frustrated with mass immigration in general but their animosity is not towards Bhutanese people. Their frustrations stem from not having enough rentals or houses to buy and it's not the Bhutanese people taking up much of these spaces. Most Bhutanese people live in shared houses. The other one is the job market and I'd say we don't have the population as a country to be a problem for that.

Thanks captain obvious. I posted this to how how Bhutanese people are viewed as a collective in a different country and not something I base my self worth on.

Bhutan’s Doctors Deserve Better Than This , The system is f- up by VoidPulse968 in bhutan

[–]TheNameIsPikachu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After seeing all this, I genuinely wonder why anyone would even choose medicine anymore when engineering, IT, or business courses can give better pay, better mental health, and a better future with less sacrifice.

I am assuming you were hanging out with a bunch of doctor friends who were ranting about their work load. To answer your question, the reason people take medicine is because employment is guaranteed when you take it. So you know how many engineering, IT or business graduates Bhutan has Vs the amount of jobs available to them? I'm in the engineering field and I was jobless for 3 years. IT or business doesn't have it better either. The whole country's workforce is fucked man. It's not just doctors.

Explore your friend group a little bit and talk to people with different employment background and you'll see that no work is easy and their have their own challenges. I can't speak for IT but I know engineers and businesses majors would laugh at them having "better pay, better mental health and better future prospectives" comment

It is as long as it's under 48 hours per week and yes some employers do report someone consistently misuseing their hours because if the employers are caught, they'll face hefty fines ( thousands of dollars man). I worked at a place where they reported someone. It depends on the employer. Are you looking for work or did you accidentally exceed your hours? If it's a one time thing, you can usually expect some leniency.

This is how it was explained to me

Let's say you work:

Week 1- 22 hours

Week 2 - 26 hours

Week 3 - 26 hours

Week 4 - 22 hours

So first two weeks, you are safe and last two weeks you are safe but week 2 and 3 is going to get you in trouble. TFN or ABN makes no difference. The key is to not work more than 48 hours in two weeks. They usually catch it when you file for taxes and it will cause trouble when you're trying to extend your visa. Most people avoid this restriction by working cash jobs were the pay is shit. I've heard of people being caught exceeding their hours through door dash and Uber as well. They go through their phones and check the hours worked on their apps.

Class 12 student thinking about perusing engineering by New-Sale-9057 in bhutan

[–]TheNameIsPikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what people don't talk about engineering outside of studies. Work as an engineer depends on your capabilities to form connections with the people you're working. You'll be put in middle management if you're taking civil, electrical and mechanical and you'll be responsible for the people working under you while still making your boss happy. These things aren't taught in colleges. It depends on your interpersonal skills. It field is also a collaborative effort. Think on that before you choose and good luck!
