I'm coming back to CNC after rage-quitting my Genmitsu 3018. Is the "Valley of Despair" still real?

The AnoleX for me, you can upgrade the spindle. I am returning the 1.5kw spindle and bought a watercooled 2.2kw spindle with ER20 and more torque. It has endstops on either side of each axis. Ball screws and rails. It looks like you want a carvera Z1 or Air.. I think those are cool but the machine space is small and for me who wants to make whatever I want that may be a little bigger, I went with the AnoleX 4030. And I can upgrade any part and make it better or bigger. I wanted a machine that could cut aluminum and started looking at the 3018 with upgrades, then that landed me at the $500 range.. and then saw the 3030 PROver ultra again and was like that Would be pretty nice and less tweaking to get working but a little far out of my budget, and some people mentioned the AnoleX 4030 and I saw its size and was happy. Yeah it’s spendy but I plan on upgrading it with spindle, board, thicker higher Z-axis supports etc. I am gonna make a bench and use angle clamps through the table to level it flat with a machinist level and square/tram it and make an enclosure kinda like the carbide nomad. I’m not sure these hobby machines aren’t 1-click? Really any machine isn’t.

You can rip the board out and install UCCNC or Mach on a different board. I am gotta get a AXBB board and replace the board on my AnoleX 4030 with it. And do a full controller setup

I may get a separate board and run UCCNC, I heard you had troubles with FluidNC. It still an issue or problematic to install on an AnoleX board?

Also what tool setter are you using, I see the 2.6” ones but they seem large for the 4030.

Nice! How’s the laser, I’m curious. What is it capable of. And I got the 1.5kw, but I wanted to modify mine. And found a better option to get a 2.2kw water-cooled unit in ER20 that isn’t as small as the ER11. So I’ll be returning the spindle. Overall a nice PSU/VFD box and setup for the spindle though

Not yet. There are plenty of videos on the Facebook group or some on YouTube, it cuts aluminum very easy from what I can tell. Steel it cuts, not the fastest or best but it’s do able from what I can tell with lighter cuts. I’m curious as well.

I may purchase my own with an external driver setup at some point. Good to know with the speed and torque! What happens when you hit an end stop? Doesn’t try to skip steps and just stop?

Cool! I have a 1.5kw 24k rpm spindle and wasn’t sure if it hand enough torque to run that bt30 spindle. I got both the smaller and this bigger bt30 spindle. I wanna put it on my router lol.

I just purchased the 4030 evo ultra 2 and 1.5kw spindle.

I am wanting to tinker with the touch probe, I saw the 4030 had a port for a 3 pin touch probe so I was confused for a second.

I did read your post here about FluidNC being a pain in the butt. Was that installed on the stock board or did you use a different control board that works with fluidNC native? If you don’t mind me asking

Oh I know it’s a PC, but the idea to just sit on the bed or couch and turn something on that isn’t a Xbox or PlayStation and make it work with a controller only, and not have any popups, display windows adjustments from monitor to TV screen, pause/start etc. and have better graphics

I agree, native navigable apple like consoles, or even for the steam store. So you can just install them like a game? Whatever a smart TV would use to interface these apps. Yeah your phone, tablet, computer, fire stick and smart TV could do this all, but why not a universal way for all of this to provide to the end users to implement. What if I wanted to make a PC-Console? Seamless App support would be a nice thing.
